Structural, Thermal, and Optical Performance (STOP) Modeling and Results for the James Webb Space Telescope Integrated Science Instrument Module
Renee Gracey,Andrew Bartoszyk,Emmanuel Cofie,Brian J. Comber,George F. Hartig,Joseph M. Howard,Derek Sabatke,Greg Wenzel,Raymond G. Ohl +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed extensive structural, thermal, and optical performance (STOP) modeling in support of all phases of the Integrated Science Instrument Module (ISIM) development.
Cryo-vacuum testing of the JWST Integrated Science Instrument Module (SPIE)
Randy A. Kimble,M. Begona Vila,Julie Van Campen,Stephan M. Birkmann,Brian J. Comber,Curtis Fatig,Alistair Glasse,Stuart D. Glazer,Douglas M. Kelly,Steven D. Mann,Andre Martel,Kevin J. Novo-Gradac,Raymond G. Ohl,Konstantin Penanen,Scott Rohrbach,Joseph F. Sullivan,Dean Zak,Julia Zhou +17 more

TL;DR: In late 2015/early 2016, a major cryo-vacuum test was carried out for the Integrated Science Instrument Module (ISIM) of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). This test comprised the final cryocertification and calibration test of the ISIM, after its ambient environmental test program (vibration, acoustics, EMI/EMC), and before its delivery for integration with the rest of the JWST observatory.

- 09 Jul 2018
TL;DR: In this article, a pre-test thermal model for the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) was constructed to simulate both the transient cooldown to and warmup from a 20 K flight-like environment, as well as predicted the payload performance at cryo-stable conditions.
