An Immunologic Evaluation of Hemophiliac Patients and Their Wives: Relationships to the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome
Richard D. deShazo,W. A. Andes,Judy Nordberg,Julie L. Newton,Carolyn Beach Daul,Brian E. Bozelka +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the peripheral blood immunologic status of 24 patients with classic hemophilia and 5 patients with factor IX deficiency and concluded that T-lymphocyte subpopulation abnormalities and lymphocyte mitogenic responses are depressed in asymptomatic hemophiliac patients receiving either factor VIII or factor IX concentrates.

A murine model of asbestosis.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that subsequent to chronic asbestos exposure, the mouse develops pulmonary and immunologic changes very similar to those noted in human asbestosis.
52
Functional analysis of monkey lymphocyte subsets defined by OKT4 and OKT8 Monoclonal Antibodies.
TL;DR: In this article, the percentage of rhesus monkey blood lymphocytes (PBL) reactive with OKT4 and OKT8 antibodies was found to correlate with the log of the immunoglobulin plaque-forming cell (PFC) response after stimulation with pokeweed mitogen (PWM).

Immune abnormalities associated with HLA-B8: Lymphocyte subsets and functional correlates
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors enumerated mononuclear cell populations in healthy young adults with or without the histocompatibility antigen HLA-B8 and found that the number of cells with and without B8 was significantly higher in subjects with B8.

Humoral immunologic abnormalities in workers exposed to asbestos cement dust.
N. James Doll,John E. Diem,Robert N. Jones,Manuel Rodriguez,Brian E. Bozelka,Richard P. Stankus,Hans Weill,John E. Salvaggio +7 more
TL;DR: Findings support B cell hyperactivity in workers exposed to asbestos and suggest that autoantibody production and IC are not directly involved in disease pathogenesis.
