Three dimensional atom probe investigation on the formation of Al3(Sc, Zr)-dispersoids in aluminium alloys
TL;DR: In this article, a 3DAP was applied to study the nucleation of small, spherical and coherent Al3(Sc,Zr)-dispersoids, and the results indicated that Al 3(Sc and Zr) in the beginning nucleation process mainly consist of Al and Sc, while Zr enters the dispersoids at later stage, i.e. relatively Zr-rich shells seem to form around Sc-rich cores.

TL;DR: A new 3DAP reconstruction procedure is proposed, which accounts for the evaporation field of a secondary phase and applies the existing cluster softwares to identify the atoms of the second phase and subsequently an iterative algorithm to homogenise the volume laterally.

An investigation of dilute Al–Hf and Al–Hf–Si alloys
TL;DR: In this paper, a binary Al-Hf alloy and a ternary Al 3 Hf-Si alloy have been investigated and it has been found that Si enhances the precipitation in these alloys, however, the results indicate that the Si-content should be kept below 0.15% in order to avoid the formation of AlHfSi-phases.
Precipitation and recrystallisation in Al–Mn–Zr with and without Sc
TL;DR: In this paper, the transition elements Zr and Mn form dispersoids in aluminium alloys and are extensively used in order to control the microstructure during heat exposure, i.e. to prevent recrystallization and strength loss after deformation hardening.
