West Nile virus genome cyclization and RNA replication require two pairs of long-distance RNA interactions
TL;DR: The 5'UAR/3' UAR pairing may release the 3' end of viral genome (as a template) during the initiation of minus-strand RNA synthesis, but not for viral translation.
Stoichiometry of C:N:P in the Roots of Alhagi sparsifolia Is More Sensitive to Soil Nutrients Than Aboveground Organs.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the relationship between carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus (C:N:P) among leaves, thorns, stems, and roots in the Alhagi sparsifolia.

LAMOST Medium-Resolution Spectroscopic Survey (LAMOST-MRS): Scientific goals and survey plan
Chao Liu,Jian-Ning Fu,Jianrong Shi,Hong Wu,Zhanwen Han,Li Chen,Subo Dong,Yong-Heng Zhao,Jian-Jun Chen,Haotong Zhang,Zhong-Rui Bai,Xuefei Chen,Wenyuan Cui,Bing Du,Chih-Hao Hsia,Dengkai Jiang,Jinliang Hou,Wen Hou,Haining Li,Jiao Li,Lifang Li,Jiaming Liu,Jifeng Liu,A-Li Luo,Juanjuan Ren,Hai-Jun Tian,Hao Tian,Jiaxin Wang,Chao-Jian Wu,Ji-Wei Xie,Hong-Liang Yan,Fan Yang,Jincheng Yu,Bo Zhang,Huawei Zhang,Liyun Zhang,Wei Zhang,Gang Zhao,Jing Zhong,Weikai Zong,Fang Zuo +40 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the scientific goals of LAMOST-MRS and propose a near optimistic strategy of the survey and a complete footprint is also provided, which includes both the regular medium-resolution survey and time-domain spectroscopic survey.
Internally deleted WNV genomes isolated from exotic birds in New Mexico: function in cells, mosquitoes, and mice.
Kendra N. Pesko,Kelly A. Fitzpatrick,Elizabeth M. Ryan,Pei Yong Shi,Bo Zhang,Niall J. Lennon,Ruchi M. Newman,Matthew R. Henn,Gregory D. Ebel +8 more
TL;DR: Characterizing three WNV isolates that contain, along with full-length genomes, mutants with large internal deletions to structural and nonstructural protein-coding regions provides evidence that large deletions may occur within flavivirus populations more frequently than has generally been appreciated and suggests that they impact population phenotype minimally.
Row-sparsity Binary Feature Learning for Open-set Palmprint Recognition
Shuyi Li,Ruijun Ma,Jianhang Zhou,Bo Zhang +3 more
- 10 Oct 2022
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors proposed a row-sparsity binary feature learning (Rs-BFL) method to adaptively learn and encode palmprint features for open-set palmprint recognition.
