Decoding the temporal and regional specification of microglia in the developing human brain.
Yanxin Li,Zhongqiu Li,Min Yang,Feiyang Wang,Yue Zhang,R. Li,Qian Li,Yunxia Gong,Binhong Wang,Baoguang Fan,Chunyue Wang,Lei Chen,Hong Li,Jennie Ong,Zhao Teng,Lei Jin,Yan-Ling Wang,Peng Du,Jianwei Jiao +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors profile single-cell transcriptomes of microglia from distinct regions of the developing human brain, and combined with experimental verification, define and characterize early microglial fate determinations related to regional specification and state transition.

Spatiotemporal transcriptome atlas reveals the regional specification of the developing human brain
Yanxin Li,Zhongqiu Li,Changliang Wang,Min Yang,Ziqing He,Feiyang Wang,Yuehong Zhang,Rong Li,Yunxia Gong,Binhong Wang,Baoguang Fan,Chunyue Wang,Lei Chen,Hong Li,Peifu Shi,Nana Wang,Zhifeng Wei,Yan-Ling Wang,Lei Jin,Peng Du,Ji Dong,Jianwei Jiao +21 more
TL;DR: This study built a spatiotemporal developmental atlas of multiple human brain regions from 6-23 gestational weeks (GWs) and discovered that, around GW8, radial glia (RG) cells have displayed regional heterogeneity and specific spatial distribution, and found that the regional heterogeneity of RG subtypes contributed to the subsequent neuronal specification.
