Comparative transcriptome analyses provide insights into the adaptation mechanisms to acute salt stresses in juvenile Sinonovacula constricta
TL;DR: A unique report of comparative transcriptome analyses in juvenile S. constricta revealed that several key metabolic modulations were mainly responsible for the acute salt stresses, and the identified DEGs and their significantly enriched GO terms and KEGG pathways were critical for understanding and further investigating the underlying the physical and biochemical performances.

Selection of a carotenoid-rich scallop strain, QN Orange, from the inter-specific hybrids between the bay scallop and the Peruvian scallop
Min Chen,Bo Liu,Bin Ma,Liu Guilong,Weian Cao,Liu Xiao,Xiaojun Yan,Bin Yang,Chunde Wang,Chunde Wang +9 more
TL;DR: Another new strain is selected, the ‘QN Orange’ scallop, with orange adductor muscles, from the same hybrid cohort as the origin of ‘Bohai Red’, with improved growth from the hybrids between the bayScallop and the Peruvian scallops.

Effect of unialgal diets on the composition of fatty acids and sterols in juvenile ark shell Tegillarca granosa Linnaeus.
TL;DR: This study has investigated the effects of six different unialgal diets on the composition of fatty acids and sterols in juvenile ark shell Tegillarca granosa Linnaeus, and found the best feeding effects on the growth of shellfish were found in C. calcitrans and I. galbana and P. viridis.
Pigment profiling of ‘QN Orange'scallop and ‘Bohai Red’ scallop adductor muscles by liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry
TL;DR: The results suggest that the orange coloration in the ‘QN Orange’ scallops might be caused by the accumulation of carotenoids.
Draft genomes of two Atlantic bay scallop subspecies Argopecten irradians irradians and A. i. concentricus
Liu Xiao,Chao Li,Min Chen,Bo Liu,Xiaojun Yan,Junhao Ning,Bin Ma,Liu Guilong,Zhaoshan Zhong,Yanglei Jia,Qiong Shi,Chunde Wang,Chunde Wang +12 more
TL;DR: These valuable genome assemblies lay a solid foundation for future theoretical studies and provide guidance for practical scallop breeding.
