Hyperinsulinemia and dyslipidemia in non-diabetic benign prostatic hyperplasia
TL;DR: Insulin was significantly associated with prostate size, cholesterol, triglycerides, VLDL-cholesterol and LDL-ch cholesterol in BPH cases and stepwise regression analysis showed insulin as an independent risk factor in the development of BPH.

Association between oxidative stress and coronary lipid risk factors in hypothyroid women is independent of body mass index.
Nivedita Nanda,Zachariah Bobby,Abdoul Hamide,Bidhan Chandra Koner,Magadi Gopalakrishna Sridhar +4 more
TL;DR: The present study indicates the presence of oxidative stress in hypothyroid patients and its association with atherogenic dyslipidemia, which is independent of BMI.

An evaluation of level of oxidative stress and protein glycation in nondiabetic undialyzed chronic renal failure patients
TL;DR: A compromised nonenzymatic defense against free-radical generation was evidenced by decreased concentrations of whole blood GSH and plasma ascorbic acid and the partial correlation analysis revealed that oxidative stress influences protein glycation in CRF patients.

Oxidative changes and desialylation of serum proteins in hyperthyroidism.
TL;DR: It is indicated that in hyperthyroidism, serum proteins undergo increased levels of oxidative changes leading to high turnover rate of blood proteins and enhanced desialylation and carbonylation of serum proteins by in-vitro H( 2)O(2) treatment suggest that oxidative stress can cause desialsylation of serum glycoproteins.

Possible link between glycated hemoglobin and lipid peroxidation in hyperthyroidism
K.M. Mohan Kumar,Zachariah Bobby,N. Selvaraj,Ashok Kumar Das,Bidhan Chandra Koner,Somdutta Sen,R. Ramesh,P. Ranganathan +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the strength of the relationships among these variables in a group of hyperthyroid patients was determined by a direct and partial correlation analysis to explore the possible relationships between these variables.
