Asymmetries of amyloid-β burden and neuronal dysfunction are positively correlated in Alzheimer's disease
Lars Frings,Sabine Hellwig,Timo S. Spehl,Tobias Bormann,Ralph Buchert,Werner Vach,Lora Minkova,Bernhard Heimbach,Stefan Klöppel,Philipp T. Meyer +9 more
TL;DR: The relationship between asymmetries of amyloids-β deposition and hypometabolism in cortical regions with high amyloid-β load is in line with the detrimental effect of ameloid- β burden on neuronal function.
Structured relearning of activities of daily living in dementia: the randomized controlled REDALI-DEM trial on errorless learning.
Sebastian Voigt-Radloff,Maartje M. E. de Werd,Rainer Leonhart,Danielle H. E. Boelen,Marcel G. M. Olde Rikkert,Klaus Fliessbach,Stefan Klöppel,Bernhard Heimbach,Andreas Fellgiebel,Richard Dodel,Gerhard W. Eschweiler,Lucrezia Hausner,Roy P. C. Kessels,Michael Hüll +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of EL compared with trial and error learning (TEL) on the performance of activities of daily living in persons with Alzheimer's or mixed-type dementia living at home were examined.
Invasive brain–machine interfaces: a survey of paralyzed patients’ attitudes, knowledge and methods of information retrieval
Jacob Lahr,Christina Schwartz,Bernhard Heimbach,Ad Aertsen,Jörn Rickert,Tonio Ball,Tonio Ball +6 more
TL;DR: The attitudes of paralyzed patients eligible for BMIs, particularly patients affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, are investigated, indicating that paralyzed patients are indeed interested in BMIs and the Internet is an important source of information on ATDs.

Category and design fluency in mild cognitive impairment: Performance, strategy use, and neural correlates.
Jessica Peter,Jannis Kaiser,Verena Landerer,Lena Köstering,Christoph P. Kaller,Bernhard Heimbach,Michael Hüll,Tobias Bormann,Stefan Klöppel +8 more
TL;DR: Although patients with aMCI are impaired in both performance and strategy use compared to HC, they are able to increase performance over time, however, only HC were able to significantly improve the utilization of fluency strategies in both category and design fluency over time.

Local, collaborative, stepped and personalised care management for older people with chronic diseases (LoChro): study protocol of a randomised comparative effectiveness trial
Fabian Frank,Frederike Bjerregaard,Jürgen Bengel,Eva Maria Bitzer,Bernhard Heimbach,Klaus Kaier,Jasmin Kiekert,Lena Violetta Krämer,Cornelia Kricheldorff,Katharina Laubner,Andy Maun,Gloria Metzner,Wilhelm Niebling,Claudia Salm,Sandra Schütter,Jochen Seufert,Erik Farin,Sebastian Voigt-Radloff +17 more
TL;DR: Positive results will be a first step towards the implementation of a systematic cross-sectoral chronic care management to facilitate the appropriate use of available medical and nursing services and to enhance self-management of older people.
