Angiopoietin-2 as a marker of endothelial activation is a good predictor factor for intensive care unit admission of COVID-19 patients.
David M. Smadja,Coralie L. Guerin,Coralie L. Guerin,Richard Chocron,Nader Yatim,Jeremy Boussier,Nicolas Gendron,Lina Khider,Jérôme Hadjadj,Guillaume Goudot,Benjamin Debuc,Philippe Juvin,Caroline Hauw-Berlemont,Jean Loup Augy,Nicolas Peron,Emmanuel Messas,Benjamin Planquette,Olivier Sanchez,Bruno Charbit,Pascale Gaussem,Darragh Duffy,Benjamin Terrier,Tristan Mirault,Jean Luc Diehl +23 more
TL;DR: Angiopoietin-2 is a relevant predictive factor for ICU direct admission in COVID-19 patients with criteria of hospitalization for referral to intensive care unit (ICU) and/or respiratory worsening, and this result showing an endothelial activation reinforces the hypothesis of a CO VID-19-associated microvascular dysfunction.

TL;DR: In this paper, a randomized open-label non-inferiority trial was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) compared to low-molecular-weight heparin for treating cancer-associated venous thromboembolism (VTE).

Huisman,Olivier Sanchez +40 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the Hestia rule and simplified Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (sPESI) for triaging patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE) for home treatment.
Long-term outcome of pulmonary embolism.
TL;DR: The risk of death after an episode of acute pulmonary embolism is less than 5%, provided that the patient is hemodynamically stable and free of major underlying disease.

Smadja +33 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the association between D-dimer at admission and in-hospital mortality in patients hospitalised for Coronavirus disease 2019, with or without symptomatic venous thromboembolism.
