Lattice strain causes non-radiative losses in halide perovskites
Timothy W. Jones,Anna Osherov,Mejd Alsari,Melany Sponseller,Benjamin C. Duck,Young-Kwang Jung,Charles Settens,Farnaz Niroui,Roberto Brenes,Camelia V. Stan,Yao Li,Yao Li,Mojtaba Abdi-Jalebi,Nobumichi Tamura,J. Emyr Macdonald,Manfred Burghammer,Richard H. Friend,Vladimir Bulovic,Aron Walsh,Aron Walsh,Gregory J. Wilson,Samuele Lilliu,Samuel D. Stranks,Samuel D. Stranks +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-scale investigation was conducted to reveal that lattice strain is directly associated with enhanced defect concentrations and non-radiative recombination in perovskite thin films.

Interlaboratory outdoor stability studies of flexible roll-to-roll coated organic photovoltaic modules: Stability over 10,000 h
Suren A. Gevorgyan,Morten Vesterager Madsen,Henrik Friis Dam,Mikkel Jørgensen,Christopher J. Fell,Kenrick F. Anderson,Benjamin C. Duck,Asaf Mescheloff,Eugene A. Katz,Andreas Elschner,Roland Roesch,Harald Hoppe,Martin Hermenau,Moritz Riede,Frederik C. Krebs +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the comparability issues related to outdoor testing procedures of organic photovoltaic (OPV) modules via studies of inter-laboratory long-term outdoor measurements of roll-to-roll coated flexible OPV modules (P3HT:PCBM, inverted architecture) in different geographic locations from both Southern and Northern hemispheres is addressed.

Evaluation of photovoltaic panel temperature in realistic scenarios
Yanping Du,Christopher J. Fell,Benjamin C. Duck,Dong Chen,Kurt Liffman,Yinan Zhang,Min Gu,Yonggang Zhu,Yonggang Zhu,Yonggang Zhu +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of solar irradiance, wind speed and ambient temperature on the PV panel temperature were studied, and the effect of thermal hysteresis on the photovoltaic efficiency was assessed based on real-time temperature measurement of solar cells in realistic weather conditions.

How reliable are efficiency measurements of perovskite solar cells? The first inter-comparison, between two accredited and eight non-accredited laboratories
Ricky B. Dunbar,Benjamin C. Duck,Tom Moriarty,Kenrick F. Anderson,Noel W. Duffy,Christopher J. Fell,Jincheol Kim,Anita Ho-Baillie,Doojin Vak,Yiliang Wu,Klaus Weber,Alex Pascoe,Yi-Bing Cheng,Qianqian Lin,Paul L. Burn,Ripon Bhattacharjee,Hongxia Wang,Gregory J. Wilson +17 more
TL;DR: The results of this study suggest that identifying a consensus technique for accurate and meaningful efficiency measurements of perovskite solar cells will lead to an immediate improvement in reliability, which should assist device researchers to correctly evaluate promising new materials and fabrication methods, and further boost the development of this technology.
