Apelin Is a Negative Regulator of Angiotensin II-Mediated Adverse Myocardial Remodeling and Dysfunction.
Zhen-Zhou Zhang,Wang Wang,Hai-Yan Jin,Xueyi Chen,Yu-Wen Cheng,Ying-Le Xu,Bei Song,Josef M. Penninger,Gavin Y. Oudit,Jiu-Chang Zhong +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of pyr1-apelin-13 peptide pathway in angiotensin (Ang) II-mediated heart disease was investigated in young apelin-deficient (APLN/y) and apolipoprotein E knockout mice.

The sirtuin 6 prevents angiotensin II-mediated myocardial fibrosis and injury by targeting AMPK-ACE2 signaling
Zhen-Zhou Zhang,Yu-Wen Cheng,Hai-Yan Jin,Qing Chang,Qian-Hui Shang,Ying-Le Xu,Lin-Xi Chen,Ran Xu,Bei Song,Jiu-Chang Zhong +9 more
TL;DR: Cardioprotective effects of SIRT6 are confirmed on pathological remodeling, fibrosis and myocardial injury through activation of AMPK-ACE2 signaling and suppression of CTGF-FKN pathway, indicating that SIRT 6 functions as a partial agonist of ACE2 and targeting SIRT8 has potential therapeutic importance for cardiac fibrosisand heart disease.

The relationship between XRCC1 and XRCC3 gene polymorphisms and lung cancer risk in northeastern Chinese.
TL;DR: This study significantly demonstrated an independent and synergistic contribution of XRCC1 Arg399Gln andXRCC3 Thr241Met polymorphisms to lung cancer susceptibility in northeastern Chinese.
Deletion of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 exacerbates renal inflammation and injury in apolipoprotein E- deficient mice through modulation of the nephrin and TNF-alpha-TNFRSF1A signaling.
Hai-Yan Jin,Lai-Jiang Chen,Lai-Jiang Chen,Zhen-Zhou Zhang,Zhen-Zhou Zhang,Ying-Le Xu,Bei Song,Ran Xu,Gavin Y. Oudit,Pingjin Gao,Pingjin Gao,Dingliang Zhu,Dingliang Zhu,Jiu-Chang Zhong,Jiu-Chang Zhong +14 more
TL;DR: RhACE2 treatment significantly reversed Ang II-induced renal inflammation, superoxide generation, kidney dysfunction and adverse renal injury in ApoEKO mice with suppression of the NOX4 and TNF-alpha-TNFRSF1A signaling.
Ascending aortic adventitial remodeling and fibrosis are ameliorated with Apelin-13 in rats after TAC via suppression of the miRNA-122 and LGR4-β-catenin signaling.
Ran Xu,Zhen-Zhou Zhang,Lai-Jiang Chen,Huimin Yu,Shujie Guo,Ying-Le Xu,Gavin Y. Oudit,Yan Zhang,Qing Chang,Bei Song,Dong-Rui Chen,Dingliang Zhu,Jiu-Chang Zhong,Jiu-Chang Zhong +13 more
TL;DR: The data point to Apelin as an important regulator of aortic remodeling and adventitial fibrosis and a promising target for vasoprotective therapies.
