Dielectrophoresis for Biomedical Sciences Applications: A Review.
TL;DR: This paper critically reviews the fundamentals, recent progress, current challenges, future directions and potential applications of research investigations in the medical sciences utilizing DEP technique and will act as a guide and reference for medical researchers and scientists to explore and utilize the DEp technique in their research fields.

Dielectrophoretic Manipulation and Separation of Microparticles Using Microarray Dot Electrodes
TL;DR: The findings confirm the capability of the proposed device to rapidly and efficiently manipulate and separate microparticles of various dimensions, utilizing positive and negative dielectrophoresis (DEP) effects.

Discriminating dengue‐infected hepatic cells (WRL‐68) using dielectrophoresis
TL;DR: The experimental discrimination of normal and dengue‐infected human hepatic fetal epithelial cells (WRL‐68 cells) based on their DEP crossover frequency, at which no resultant movement occurs in the cells in response to the DEP force is reported.

- 01 Sep 2012
TL;DR: In this article, the electric field distribution over planar multiple microarray dot electrode using numerical modeling of Comsol Multiphysics 42a® has been investigated and it has been shown that electric field strength is axisymmetrical around the centre of the dot aperture and that is higher at the dot edges than the dot centers.

Lab-on-a-chip particles manipulation for point-of-care diagnostic systems utilizing dielectrophoresis
Bashar Yafouz,Nahrizul Adib Kadri,Fatimah Ibrahim +2 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: In this paper, microarray dot electrodes were used to manipulate polystyrene particles using dielectrophoresis (DEP) in a point-of-care (POC) diagnostic system by analyzing transmitted light variations inside the dot regions.
