Tensor-based classification and segmentation of three-dimensional point clouds for organ-level plant phenotyping and growth analysis
TL;DR: A novel data-driven segmentation model is presented as a basis for organ-level plant analysis and shows that a point-wise computation of first- and second-order tensors is sufficient to characterize the data, without the need for pre-defined shape assumptions and constraints.

Direct linear and refraction-invariant pose estimation and calibration model for underwater imaging
Bashar Elnashef,Sagi Filin +1 more
TL;DR: This paper derives a refraction-invariant representation of underwater images and demonstrates the ability to yield a linear model, to simplify the settings and requirements for calibration procedures, and most importantly to improve the accuracy of the system parameters by an order of magnitude or more.

3-D Image-Driven Morphological Crop Analysis: A Novel Method for Detection of Sunflower Broomrape Initial Subsoil Parasitism
TL;DR: This paper approaches early O. cumana detection by hypothesizing that its parasitism already impacts the host plant morphology at the sub-soil surface developmental stage, and verifies the detection timing of height and first internode length was early enough for herbicide post-emergence application.

Target-free calibration of flat refractive imaging systems using two-view geometry
Bashar Elnashef,Sagi Filin +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a two-view geometry analysis of a single camera and a stereo-rig is presented, where the relative pose is fixed but the system model is more involved.
