A BA-based algorithm for parameter optimization of Support Vector Machine
TL;DR: The experimental results proved that the proposed Bat algorithm (BA) is capable to find the optimal values of the SVM parameters and avoids the local optima problem.

Osmotic Bio-Inspired Load Balancing Algorithm in Cloud Computing
TL;DR: This paper proposes a hybrid metaheuristics technique which combines the osmotic behavior with bio-inspired load balancing algorithms in achieving load balancing between physical machines and shows results that show that OH_BAC decreases energy consumption, the number of VMs migrations and thenumber of shutdown hosts compared to existing algorithms.
Performance of hybrid compression ignition engine using hydroxy (HHO) from dry cell
TL;DR: In this paper, three types of HHO dry cells, namely alpha, beta and omega cells, were used to produce the HHO gas from water, which is ionized by adding NaOH as the electrolyte.

Experimental study of productivity progress for a solar still integrated with parabolic trough collectors with a phase change material in the receiver evacuated tubes and in the still
Mohamed M. Khairat Dawood,Tamer Nabil,Abd Elnaby Kabeel,Abd Elnaby Kabeel,Ali I. Shehata,Abdalla M. Abdalla,Basem E. Elnaghi +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an improved single slope solar still with an under-basin phase change material (PCM) served as a latent heat storage material within the evacuated tube's inner pipe.

Particle Swarm Optimization : a tutorial
Alaa Tharwat,Tarek Gaber,Aboul Ella Hassanien,Basem E. Elnaghi +3 more
- 01 Jan 2017
TL;DR: The basic background needed to understand and implement the PSO algorithm is highlighted and how the particles are moved in the search space to find the optimal or near optimal solution is illustrated.
