Entry of bovine viral diarrhea virus into ovine cells occurs through clathrin-dependent endocytosis and low pH-dependent fusion
Basavaraj Mathapati,Niranjan Mishra,Katherukamem Rajukumar,Ram Kumar Nema,Sthita Pragnya Behera,S. C. Dubey +5 more
TL;DR: Results showed for the first time that entry of both BVDV-1 and BVDv-2 into ovine cells occurred through clathrin-dependent endocytosis, endosomal acidification, and low pH-dependent fusion following an activation step, besides suggesting the involvement of a common ovine cellular receptor during attachment and entry.

TL;DR: It is deciphered that Indian ILT viruses are closely related to chicken embryo origin vaccine strains of Italy, USA, China and Brazil.

Molecular characterization of RNA and protein synthesis during a one-step growth curve of bovine viral diarrhoea virus in ovine (SFT-R) cells
Niranjan Mishra,Basavaraj Mathapati,Katherukamem Rajukumar,Ram Kumar Nema,Sthita Pragnya Behera,S. C. Dubey +5 more
TL;DR: It was showed that synthesis of BVDV RNA and proteins in ovine cells occurs at similar times as found in bovine cells, and there is evidence that NS2-3 protein was cleaved in Ovine cells early during infection and in proliferated leukocytes of acutely infected sheep.

Detection and partial genetic characterisation of a novel variant of Avian nephritis virus in Indian poultry flocks showing diverse clinical signs
Vasudevan Gowthaman,Sambu Dhayal Singh,Kuldeep Dhama,R. Barathidasan,Palani Srinivasan,S. Saravanan,Thippichettypalayam Ramasamy Gopalakrishnamurthy,Rajib Deb,Basavaraj Mathapati,Muthannan Andavar Ramakrishnan +9 more
TL;DR: This study confirms the existence of ANV in Indian poultry flocks and is the first report on the molecular detection and genetic characterisation ofANV from India.
Isolation and phylogenetic characterization of haemagglutinin and neuraminidase genes of H9N2 low pathogenicity avian influenza virus isolated from commercial layers in India
Vasudevan Gowthaman,Vasudevan Gowthaman,Shambu Dayal Singh,Kuldeep Dhama,Palani Srinivasan,S. Saravanan,Thippichettypalayam Ramasamy Gopala Krishna Murthy,Kuppanan Sukumar,Basavaraj Mathapati,Camille Lebarbenchon,Yashpal Singh Malik,Muthannan Andavar Ramakrishnan +11 more

TL;DR: Phylogenetically, the HA and NA genes of the H9N2 viruses from India clustered with those isolated from Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Middle East, although the authors were not able to conclude on their exact geographic origin.
