N-Type Organic Thermoelectrics of Donor-Acceptor Copolymers: Improved Power Factor by Molecular Tailoring of the Density of States.
Jian Liu,Gang Ye,Bas van der Zee,Jingjin Dong,Xinkai Qiu,Yuru Liu,Giuseppe Portale,Ryan C. Chiechi,L. Jan Anton Koster +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the n-type thermoelectric performance of donor-acceptor (D-A) copolymers can be enhanced by a factor of >1000 by tailoring the density of states (DOS).
N-type organic thermoelectrics : Demonstration of ZT > 0.3
Jian Liu,Bas van der Zee,Riccardo Alessandri,Selim Sami,Jingjin Dong,Mohamad Insan Nugraha,Alex J. Barker,Sylvia Rousseva,Li Qiu,Xinkai Qiu,Nathalie Klasen,Ryan C. Chiechi,Derya Baran,Mario Caironi,Thomas D. Anthopoulos,Giuseppe Portale,Remco W. A. Havenith,Remco W. A. Havenith,Siewert J. Marrink,Jan C. Hummelen,L. Jan Anton Koster +20 more
TL;DR: The key factor to achieving the record performance is to use ‘arm-shaped’ double-triethylene-glycol-type side chains, which not only offer excellent doping efficiency but also induce a disorder-to-order transition upon thermal annealing.

Molecular Doping Directed by a Neutral Radical.
Jian Liu,Bas van der Zee,Diego R Villava,Gang Ye,Gang Ye,Simon Kahmann,Max Kamperman,Jingjin Dong,Li Qiu,Giuseppe Portale,Maria Antonietta Loi,Jan C. Hummelen,Ryan C. Chiechi,Derya Baran,L. Jan Anton Koster +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, a neutral radical molecule, namely nitroxyl radical (2,2,6,6-teramethylpiperidin-i-yl) oxyl (TEMPO), is introduced to improve the molecular doping process.

Doping Engineering Enables Highly Conductive and Thermally Stable n-Type Organic Thermoelectrics with High Power Factor
Jian Liu,Matt P. Garman,Jingjin Dong,Bas van der Zee,Li Qiu,Giuseppe Portale,Jan C. Hummelen,L. Jan Anton Koster +7 more
- 19 Aug 2019
TL;DR: In this paper, the scope of doping engineering is exploited as an enabler for betterperforming and thermally stable n-type organic thermoelectrics, a fullerene derivative with polar triethylene glycol type.
