Wnt6, Wnt10a and Wnt10b inhibit adipogenesis and stimulate osteoblastogenesis through a β-catenin-dependent mechanism
William P. Cawthorn,Adam J. Bree,Yao Yao,Baowen Du,Baowen Du,Nahid Hemati,Gabriel Martinez-Santibanez,Ormond A. MacDougald +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that mechanisms downstream of β-catenin are required for Wnt6, Wnt 10a and Wnt10b to influence differentiation of mesenchymal precursors and knockdown of β, catenin completely prevents the inhibition of adipogenesis and stimulation of osteoblast differentiation by Wnt 6, WNT10a or Wnt11b.

The Transcription Factor Paired-Related Homeobox 1 (Prrx1) Inhibits Adipogenesis by Activating Transforming Growth Factor-β (TGFβ) Signaling
Baowen Du,William P. Cawthorn,Alison Su,Casey R. Doucette,Yao Yao,Nahid Hemati,Sarah E. Kampert,Colin S. McCoin,David T. Broome,Clifford J. Rosen,Gongshe Yang,Ormond A. MacDougald +11 more
TL;DR: The data support the hypothesis that endogenous Prrx1 restrains adipogenesis by regulating expression of TGFβ ligands and thereby activating TGF β signaling and contribute to aberrant adipocyte function during obesity.
