Topological Insulator Simultaneously Q-Switched Dual-Wavelength $ \hbox{Nd}:\hbox{Lu}_{2}\hbox{O}_{3}$ Laser
TL;DR: In this article, the dual-wavelength simultaneously Q-switched laser with a topological insulator was demonstrated, and the slope efficiency of 31% was achieved by using the wavelength-insensitive saturable absorption of topology insulators.

Energy enhancement of mixed Nd:LuYSGG crystal in passively Q-switched lasers.
TL;DR: The results show that Nd:LuYSGG crystal is a promising laser material with large energy storage capacities and suitable for the application of pulsed lasers with shorter pulses and larger energies.

Thermal, spectroscopic and laser properties of Nd3+ in gadolinium scandium gallium garnet crystal produced by optical floating zone method
TL;DR: In this article, a single crystal with dimensions of Φ 5 × 20 mm2 has been grown by means of optical floating zone (OFZ) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD) result shows that the as-grown Nd:GSGG crystal possesses a cubic structure with space group Ia3d and a cell parameter of a ǫ = 1.2561nm.

Topological insulator as an optical modulator for pulsed solid‐state lasers
Haohai Yu,Han Zhang,Yicheng Wang,Chujun Zhao,Baolin Wang,Shuangchun Wen,Huaijin Zhang,Jiyang Wang +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, it was demonstrated that a topological insulator can modulate the operation of a bulk solid-state laser by taking advantage of its saturable absorption, which is potentially attractive as broadband pulsed modulators for the generation of short and ultrashort pulses in bulk solid state lasers, in addition to other promising applications in physics and computing.
