The network searching method of the multi-mode terminal comprises the steps that when the multi-mode terminal selects networks again, whether a resident cell exists is judged; when the resident cell exists, whether the resident cell has network neighboring cells with a higher data rate is judged; when the resident cell has the network neighboring cells, whether the neighboring cells permit residence is judged in sequence according to the sequence that the data rates of networks corresponding to the neighboring cells are from high to low; when the neighboring cells permit residence, the multi-mode terminal resides in the neighboring cells; when no neighboring cell permits residence, the multi-mode terminal resides in the resident cell; when the resident cell has no network neighboring cell with the higher data rate, the multi-mode terminal resides in the resident cell.
