Separation and detection of uv-absorbing derivatives of fecal bile acid metabolites by high-performance liquid chromatography.
TL;DR: Major fecal bile acid metabolites related to lithocholic acid were resolved by high-performance liquid chromatography (hplc) and separated and identified by preparing p -nitrobenzyl derivatives and monitoring the column effluent for both uv and radioactivity.

Simultaneous analysis of substrates, products, and inhibitors of xanthine oxidase by high-pressure liquid chromatography and gas chromatography.
Gerald J. Putterman,Badaruddin Shaikh,Margarette R. Hallmark,Cheryl G. Sawyer,Catherine V. Hixson,Fulvio Perini +5 more
TL;DR: Hplc requires no prior derivatization, uses isocratic elution with a buffer containing no organic solvent, and has 50- to 100-fold greater sensitivity than gc.

Characterization of microbial metabolites of sulfolithocholic acid by high-performance liquid chromatography
TL;DR: Microfloral metabolites of [14COOH]-sulfolithocholic acid were analyzed as their para-nitrobenzyl esters using high performance liquid chromatography to show that sulfolithocholate was converted principally to non-polar metabolites including 5β-chol-3-enoate, a fatty acyl ester of isolithocholate, and lithocholic Acid.
