TL;DR: For the first time the 2+ --> 0(1)+ transition in 80Zn was observed at 1492(1) keV, and a good N=50 shell closure and a strong Z=28 proton core polarization are indicated.

TL;DR: In REX-ISOLDE, a new concept of post-acceleration of radioactive ion beams by using charge breeding of the ions in a high charge state ion source and the efficient acceleration of the highly charged ion in a short LINAC using modern ion accelerator structures is introduced.
