Microring resonators (MRRs) can be used to generate optical millimetre-wave solitons with a broadband frequency of 40-60 GHz. Non-linear light behaviours within MRRs, such as chaotic signals, can be used to generate logic codes (digital codes). The soliton signals can be multiplexed and modulated with the logic codes using an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technique to transmit the data via a network system. OFDM uses overlapping subcarriers without causing inter-carrier interference. It provides both a high data rate and symbol duration using frequency division multiplexing over multiple subcarriers within one channel. The results show that MRRs support both single-carrier and multi-carrier optical soliton pulses, which can be used in an OFDM based on whether fast Fourier transform or discrete wavelet transform transmission/receiver system. Localised ultra-short soliton pulses within frequencies of 50 and 52 GHz can be seen at the throughput port of the panda system with respect to full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) and free spectrum range of 5 MHz and 2 GHz, respectively. The soliton pulses with FWHMs of 10 MHz could be generated at the drop port. Therefore, transmission of data information can be performed via a communication network using soliton pulse carriers and an OFDM technique.

This paper presents a framework of architecture scene based on augmented reality, which can help designers to analyze and evaluate the design scheme at the early stage of architecture design. First, we used Revit to construct the 3D architectural model, and then we extracted the scene feature points with AKAZE algorithm, and applied the visual vocabulary tree to identify the architectural scene. Finally, the monocular SLAM technology was used to register the virtual 3D building model of the real outdoor scene, and the architecture scene construction system based on augmented reality was implemented. The experimental results show that the proposed framework has the characteristics of a real immersion and easy spread and can help designers to make a more reasonable evaluation of the architectural design scheme.

This paper describes a generic autonomic architecture for use in developing systems for managing hardware faults in mobile robots. The method by which the generic architecture was developed is also described. Using autonomic principles, we focused on how to detect faults within a mobile robot and how specialized algorithms can be deployed to compensate for the faults discovered. We design the foundation of a generic architecture using the elements found in the MAPE-K and IMD architectures. We present case studies that show three different fault scenarios that can occur within the effectors, sensors and power units of a mobile robot. For each case study, we have developed algorithms for monitoring and analyzing data stored from previous tasks completed by the robot. We use the results from the case studies to create and refine a generic autonomic architecture that can be utilized for any general mobile robot setup for fault detection and fault compensation. We then describe a further case study which exercises the generic autonomic architecture in order to demonstrate its utility. Our proposal addresses fundamental challenges in operating remote mobile robots with little or no human intervention. If a fault does occur within the mobile robot during field operations, then having a self-automated strategy as part of its processes may result in the mobile robot continuing to function at a productive level. Our research has provided insights into the shortcomings of existing robot design which is also discussed.

A new modulation/multiplexing system using wavelet transform was proposed for (Third generation partnership project) 3GPP networks. This new modulation technique makes use of the existing standard (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) OFDM system and replacing the Fourier transform blocks by wavelet transform blocks. There are wide varieties of wavelet transforms are available, out of which four were chosen. They are Haar, Daubechies 4, Biorthogonal and reverse Biorthogonal transforms. The performance of the wavelet based OFDM system using various modulations like BPSK, DPSK, QPSK, DQPSK, OQPSK and 16-QAM was assessed by various parameters such as bit error rate, eye diagram and constellation diagram. The haar wavelet along with BPSK modulation is concluded as the best one. The BER results of all transforms and its eyeheights for SNR of 18db are as shown. The proposed system is named as (orthogonal haar wavelet division multiplexing) OHWDM which can be implemented for 3GPP based future cellular networks.
