TL;DR: The beam monitoring instrumentation of a dedicated beam line is discussed in this article, where relative biological effectiveness (RBE) values (at 10% survival) have been measured as functions of projectile energy (0−21 MeV) for protons and 6,7 Li ions for different tumor (PDV, PDVC57) and reference cell lines (V79).

Assessment of γH2AX nuclear foci number and size in normal and repair-deficient cells irradiated with low and high linear energy transfer radiation
C. Bracalente,I.L. Ibanez,B. Molinari,Mónica A. Palmieri,A. Maglioco,Lucia Policastro,A.J. Kreiner,A. Burlon,A. Valda,J. Davidson,M. Davidson,Manuel Vázquez,M. Ozafran,Hebe Duran +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the DNA damage induced by low and high linear energy transfer radiation in two related cell lines with different radiation sensitivity, CHO10B2 and irs-20 cells were assessed by the detection of phosphorylated histone H2AX foci (γH2AX).
