Dynamic Microbubble Contrast-enhanced US to Measure Tumor Response to Targeted Therapy: A Proposed Clinical Protocol with Results from Renal Cell Carcinoma Patients Receiving Antiangiogenic Therapy
Ross Williams,John M. Hudson,B. Lloyd,Ahthavan R. Sureshkumar,Gordon Lueck,Laurent Milot,Mostafa Atri,Georg A. Bjarnason,Peter N. Burns +8 more
TL;DR: DCE US provides reproducible and sensitive assessment of vascular changes in response to antiangiogenic therapy and could not be used to predict long-term assessment of best response by using RECIST.

Effect of an individualized dose/schedule strategy for sunitinib in metastatic renal cell cancer (mRCC) on progression-free survival (PFS): Correlation with dynamic microbubble ultrasound (DCE-US) data.
Georg A. Bjarnason,Bishoy Khalil,Ross Williams,John M. Hudson,B. Lloyd,Laurent Milot,Mostafa Atri,Alex Kiss,Peter N. Burns +8 more
TL;DR: Starting pts on 50 mg 14 d/7 d followed by individ DSM may be safe and active and pts that tolerate 50 mg 28 d/14 d with minimum toxicity may need dose escalation and/or less time off therapy to optimize PFS.

Microbubble ultrasound (DCE-US) compared to DCE-MRI and DCE-CT for the assessment of vascular response to sunitinib in renal cell carcinoma (RCC).
Georg A. Bjarnason,Ross Williams,John M. Hudson,Colleen Bailey,Christina R. Lee,B. Lloyd,Sonja Kandel,John M.L. Ebos,Alex Kiss,Robert S. Kerbel,Laurent Milot,Mostafa Atri,Greg J. Stanisz,Peter N. Burns +13 more
TL;DR: BV data suggest that a 2W on/1W off schedule may optimize the therapeutic index in RCC patients on TKI Rx, and DCE-US may help select optimal scheduling for novel anti-angiogenic drugs.

An individualized dose/schedule strategy for sunitinib in metastatic renal cell cancer (mRCC) on progression-free survival (PFS): Correlation with dynamic microbubble ultrasound (DCE-US) data.
Bishoy Khalil,John M. Hudson,Ross Williams,B. Lloyd,Laurent Milot,Mostafa Atri,Alex Kiss,Peter N. Burns,Georg A. Bjarnason +8 more
TL;DR: Starting pts on 50mg 14d/7d followed by individ DSM may be safe and active in mRCC patients, and this DSM strategy was associated with a favorable toxicity profile, apparent improvement in PFS and a good PR+SD rate in a group of unselected mR CC pts, warranting confirmation in a prospective trial.
