Randomized placebo-controlled study of recombinant human interleukin-11 to prevent chemotherapy-induced thrombocytopenia in patients with breast cancer receiving dose-intensive cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin.
Claudine Isaacs,Nicholas J. Robert,F A Bailey,M W Schuster,Beth Overmoyer,M Graham,B Cai,Kathleen J. Beach,John Loewy,James A. Kaye +9 more
TL;DR: rhIL-11 is safe and effective in reducing treatment-associated thrombocytopenia and the need for platelet transfusions in patients who undergo dose-intensive chemotherapy, and thus may permit chemotherapy to be administered as planned at intended doses and thereby maximize the potential for a successful outcome.

Hyper-CVAD-Based Stem Cell Microtransplant as Post-Remission Therapy in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
B Cai,Yi Wang,Yangyang Lei,Yanping Shi,Qi-Yun Sun,Jian-Hui Qiao,Kai-Xun Hu,Yaqing Lei,Bing-Xia Li,Tie-Qiang Liu,Zhiqing Liu,Bo Yao,Xuecong Zhao,Xiaofei Li,Wen Zhao,Xiaoling Feng,Anli Xie,Xin Ning,Ming Feng,Weiwei Zhao,Jiayue Guo,Hui-Sheng Ai,Chang-Lin Yu,Mei Guo +23 more
TL;DR: Multivariate analyses demonstrated that white blood cells <30 × 109/L at diagnosis and sufficient hyper-CVAD cycles were prognostic factors for better 4-year OS and LFS, while the B-cell phenotype and higher number of infused CD34+ cells in the first cycle were predictors for favorable 4- year LFS.
Mismatched donor cell infusion-related syndrome following microtransplant in patients with acute myeloid leukemia
B Cai,Xiaoyan Zou,Xin-Yu Ning,Tie-Qiang Liu,Bing-Xia Li,Yaqing Lei,Jian-Hui Qiao,Kai-Xun Hu,Yangyang Lei,Zhiqing Liu,Bo Yao,Hui-Sheng Ai,Yi Wang,Chang-Lin Yu,Mei Guo +14 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors analyzed 88 cycles of mismatched donor granulocyte colony-stimulating factor mobilized peripheral blood mononuclear cell (GPBMC) infusion in patients receiving microtransplant (MST) and 54 cycles of chemotherapy without GPBMC infusion as a comparison.
