Identification of key influencing factors to Chinese coal power enterprises transition in the context of carbon neutrality: A modified fuzzy DEMATEL approach

Under the conditions of intense competitive struggle, integrated assessment methods are gaining increasingly greater importance in the processes of information and analytical support of enterprise development management. Enterprise competitiveness is one of the most universal, and, consequently, methodological and applied features among such generalizing characteristics. However, almost all of the approaches used are characterized by both significant advantages and certain disadvantages as of the date. This study develops a system of information and analytical support for managing enterprise competitiveness in the market of fast moving consumer goods, where competition is near the highest. The author's approach for assessing the competitiveness status of enterprises is developed. For this purpose, a system of indicators is determined, which reveal comprehensively and systematically the main parameters of competitiveness according to its structural components, or subsystems: (1) personnel, (2) property, (3) commodity, (4) organizational. The peculiarity of the approach includes the combination of the method of enterprise position rating in the market, and expert survey, which ends with presentation of the results using the graphical method. Summarizing approbation of the developed methodological approach to the assessment of enterprise competitiveness status, the results allow to allocate the leader enterprises, enterprises of average level of competitiveness, enterprises of attack zones and lost opportunities, and outsider enterprises are obtained. The results include the possibility of implementing a new better and more comprehensive approach for analyzing the status of competitiveness of competing enterprises, which serves as a significant information and analytical basis for policy planning to strengthen the competitive position of businesses for the consumer goods market.

Information and analytical support system of enterprise competitiveness management

This study focuses on carbon capture and distribution technology, which is a new approach to the solution of this problem. In order to use this technology more effectively, six significant criteria are defined by considering the essentials of the international Loss Control Institute and the supported literature. Moreover, the analytic network process (ANP) is applied for measuring the relative importance of each factor. The findings demonstrate that organizational factor has the greatest importance, whereas market factor is the weakest element. In addition, the education of the personnel is the most important criterion for low-cost industrial carbon dioxide capture and separation technologies. In this context, it is seen that companies need competent personnel in order to reduce the costs of these products. There are two types of strategies that companies can develop to achieve this goal. Firstly, it would be appropriate for companies to provide their staff with the necessary training on carbon capture and storage technologies. The second most important strategy is for the new personnel to be employed in the company. When choosing new employees, it is necessary to measure whether they have sufficient knowledge about this technology. These strategies will contribute to lower costs when developing products for carbon capture and storage technology.

espanolLos niveles de competitividad de los paises de Latinoamerica se encuentran en un proceso de desarrollo lento para alcanzar a empresas situadas en economias mas modernas, por tener dificultades en algunos pilares fundamentales de competitividad como los niveles de innovacion tecnologica en base a inversiones inteligentes de infraestructura, capital intelectual, que tengan un impacto importante en la productividad multifactorial. El objetivo de esta investigacion fue analizar la situacion competitiva de las Pequenas y Medianas Empresas (PYMES) en la ciudad de Trujillo, evaluando los factores claves para la productividad que tendran una asociacion con la competitividad sostenible. Se realizo un estudio empirico aplicado a 152 empresarios en diversos sectores de la ciudad de Trujillo, recopilando informacion de tipo cualitativo y cuantitativo. Los resultados obtenidos fueron que el 70% de las empresas del sector calzado estan preparados para responder a las cinco fuerzas competitivas de Porter, para el sector metal mecanica el 89% de las empresas, y el 70% de las empresas para textil son competitivas. Se identifico que la calidad, capital humano, finanzas, plan estrategico, comercializacion y las alianzas estrategicas, tienen una relacion positiva con la competitividad; sin embargo, al integrarse con las TICs no se aprecia la sinergia del negocio. Los hallazgos son de utilidad para mejorar el conocimiento en las decisiones estrategicas de los Gerentes de las PYMES para responder a la Globalizacion y al proceso intensivo de la digitalizacion. EnglishThe levels of competitiveness of the countries of Latin America are in a process of slow development to reach those companies located in more modern economies, because they have difficulties in some fundamental pillars of competitiveness such as the levels of technological innovation based on intelligent infrastructure investments, intellectual capital, that have a major impact on multifactor productivity. The objective of this research was to analyze the competitive situation of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the city of Trujillo, evaluating the key factors for productivity that will have an association with sustainable competitiveness. For this, the first step was to develop review of the fundamental literature for the hypotheses and the empirical study applied to 152 entrepreneurs in various sectors of the city of Trujillo, compiling the opinion of qualitative and quantitative type and statistical processing. The results obtained were that 70% of the companies in the footwear sector are prepared to respond to the five competitive forces of Porter, for the mechanical metal sector 89% of the companies, 70% of the textile companies are competitive. Through linear regressions, we identify that quality, human capital, finance, strategic plan, marketing and strategic alliances have a positive relationship with competitiveness, however when integrated with ICTs, the synergy of the business is not appreciated. The findings are useful to improve knowledge in the strategic decisions of SME Managers to respond to Globalization and the intensive process of digitalization.

Análisis de los factores de competitividad para la productividad sostenible de las PYMES en Trujillo (Perú)

This study investigated the role of formal strategic planning on organizational performance. Moreover, this relation is explored further with the moderation of stakeholders’ involvement. The empirical data were collected from 220 chief executives or general managers of manufacturing companies using a questionnaire survey. AMOS software was used to analyze the collected data. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was conducted to test the hypothesis, and moderation was investigated using a slop test. The results of the study revealed that formal strategic planning could enhance the performance of the organization. Furthermore, the results highlighted that stakeholder's involvement could strengthen the relationship between formal strategic planning and organizational performance. Previous studies have highlighted the importance of overall strategic management in enhancing an organization's performance. The research also revealed that performance was affected mainly by formal strategic planning and stakeholder involvement. The study used manufacturing companies in Jordan. Moreover, the data was collected from 220 respondents. Therefore, future studies should be conducted from any other country's perspective and use a larger sample size. This study has used moderation of stakeholder's involvement to get more specific results. Future studies should use organizational culture as a moderating variable.
