Business analytics is an emerging field that can potentially extend the domain of performance management to provide an improved understanding of business dynamics and lead to a better decision making. The purpose of this positional paper is to introduce performance management analytics as a potential extension of performance management research and practice. A framework for business analytics in performance management

The case(s) demonstrates the importance of business process management (BPM) and business intelligence systems (BIS) in achieving better firm performance. It has been well documented in the literature that research on the effectively usage and combination of knowledge from BPM and BIS in turbulent service environments is limited. In response, we conduct an exploratory comparative case study of four firms in banking and telecommunication industries that have implemented BPM initiative and BIS solution. Our results firstly highlight that actual results of applying BPM and BIS differ greatly from the results that were originally planned. Secondly, we find that BIS initiatives are usually driven by improving marketing and sales, while BPM initiatives are driven by improving business processes. Thirdly, we identify that there is a lack of strong commitment to using both systems for supporting performance management.

Supporting Performance Management with Business Process Management and Business Intelligence: A Case Analysis of Integration and Orchestration

The purpose of this paper is to know the effect of mediation of work motivation on the influence of job design and organizational culture on human resource performance.,The design of the study is the detailed planning used as a study guide that leads to the purpose of the study. The unit of analysis of this research is the expert and skilled labor of construction service actors working in the national consulting company PT. Yodya Karya (Persero) at the central level and branches spread over 11 branches in Indonesian territory. Data analysis method used is path analysis and Sobel test to test the indirect effect (mediation effect).,Based on the results of the analysis, several things can be concluded such as: there is a significant direct influence of work design on the performance of human resources and work motivation; there is a significant direct influence of organizational culture on work motivation and human resource performance; and there is a significant direct influence of work motivation on human resource performance. There is an indirect influence of work design on the performance of human resources through work motivation mediation variables. Meanwhile, work motivation is not the influence of organizational culture on human resource performance.,The originality of this research lies in forming the mediator variable that is the work motivation on the causal relationship of two variables and adding new variables of work design on the effect on the human resource performance.

The mediating effect of work motivation on the influence of job design and organizational culture against HR performance

Purpose – This paper sets out to explore performance management as a discipline and propose an integrated performance management model.Design/methodology/approach – This conceptual paper aims to clarify what performance management is and how it emerged as a discipline by tracking its evolution at strategic, operational and individual levels. Structured as a review, it enables the rediscovery of performance management and the identification of several key dichotomies, brought together under an integrated performance management model.Findings – Three emerging approaches to performance management are presented as potential catalysts to accelerate the evolution of this discipline: systems thinking, learning and integration.
