François Stéphan,Benoit Barrucand,Pascal Petit,Saida Rezaiguia-Delclaux,Anne Médard,Bertrand Delannoy,Bernard Cosserant,Guillaume Flicoteaux,Audrey Imbert,Catherine Pilorge,Laurence Bérard +10 more
TL;DR: Among cardiothoracic surgery patients with or at risk for respiratory failure, the use of high-flow nasal oxygen therapy compared with intermittent BiPAP did not result in a worse rate of treatment failure, and the findings support the useof high- flow nasal oxygen Therapy in similar patients.
Clinical and biologic features of patients suspected or confirmed to have heparin-induced thrombocytopenia in a cardiothoracic surgical ICU.
Virginie Trehel-Tursis,Virginie Louvain-Quintard,Youssef Zarrouki,Audrey Imbert,Sylvie Doubine,François Stéphan +5 more
TL;DR: Even with a prospective platelet monitoring protocol, suspicion for HIT arose in <2% of patients in a cardiothoracic ICU, and most were found to have other causes of thrombocytopenia, with HIT confirmed in 28 of 101 suspected cases.

Circuit change during extracorporeal membrane oxygenation: single-center retrospective study of 48 changes
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors evaluated the course of clinical, laboratory, and transfusion parameters before and after ECMO circuit changes warranted by bleeding or thrombosis in patients under extracorporeal membrane oxygenator.
A Heart Transplant Patient With Fever, Diarrhea, and Neutropenia.

Prone Positioning Under ECMO: A Retrospective Cohort of 34 Patients
TL;DR: In this article , the authors performed a retrospective study to evaluate the change of oxygenation and the risks involved in positioning patients under ECMO in PP and found that PP has a benefit on oxygenation in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome.
