Role of ouabain-like compound in the regulation of plasma aldosterone concentration in rats
TL;DR: It is indicated that chronic blockade of the circulating OLC significantly decreases plasma aldosterone concentration during salt depletion and suggest that endogenous OLC may play an important role in the regulation of ald testosterone secretion and/or production.

Angiotensin II enhances glomerular expression of a nonmuscle myosin heavy chain, SMemb, with extracellular matrix accumulation.
Naobumi Mise,Kenjiro Kimura,Masahiko Kurabayashi,Ryozo Nagai,Toshihiro Okuda,Shigeyoshi Ohba,Naoe Suzuki,Kazuhisa Miyashita,Atsuko Kamijo,Akihiro Tojo,Atsuo Goto,Masao Omata +11 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the mesangial expression of SMemb is related to glomerular matrix accumulation and that AII mediates both mesangIAL processes via AT1 receptors.

Antihypertensive property and renal protection by Shichimotsu-koka-to extract in salt-induced hypertension in Dahl strain rats
Nobuhito Hiwara,Yoshio Uehara,Satoru Takada,Yukari Kawabata,Nobuko Ohshima,Taiji Nagata,Toshihiko Ishimitsu,Tomoko Gomi,Atsuo Goto,Toshio Ikeda,Shigeru Yagi,Masao Omata +11 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that Shichimotsukoka-to extract exhibits an antihypertensive effect which is associated with partial resolution of glomerular sclerosis in the kidney.

Effects of intracerebroventricular infusion of Fab fragments of digoxin antibody (Digibind) on development of reduced renal mass-saline hypertension in rats.
TL;DR: Results indicate that chronic intracerebroventricular infusion of Digibind augmented reduced renal mass-saline hypertension in rats and suggest that brain ouabain-like compound may play a protective role against the elevation of blood pressure, at least in this model of hypertension.
