A metabolic engineering strategy for producing conjugated linoleic acids using the oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica
Nabila Imatoukene,Nabila Imatoukene,Jonathan Verbeke,Athanasios Beopoulos,Abdelghani Idrissi Taghki,Brigitte Thomasset,Claude-Olivier Sarde,M. Nonus,Jean-Marc Nicaud +8 more
TL;DR: Four genetically modified strains of the oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica were generated, presenting various genetic modifications, including the elimination of β-oxidation, the inability to store lipids as triglycerides, and the overexpression of the Y. lipolyTica ∆12-desaturase gene.
Effect of mcl-PHA synthesis in flax on plant mechanical properties and cell wall composition.
Magdalena Wróbel-Kwiatkowska,Mateusz Kropiwnicki,Jacek Żebrowski,Athanasios Beopoulos,Lucyna Dymińska,Jerzy Hanuza,Waldemar Rymowicz +6 more
TL;DR: In the study the gene encoding PHA synthase from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, fused to a peroxisomal targeting signal, was expressed in flax plants with the aim of modifying the mechanical properties of plants, and modified plants showed increases in the values of all measured parameters.
