The purpose of this paper is to examine the transformational leadership (TL) – employees’ organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and employees’ emotional intelligence (EI) – employees’ OCB associations. In addition, this study explored the moderating role of employees’ EI on the TL – employees’ OCB relationship.,The study was conducted in 50 organizations in Iran, on a sample of 2,021 employees.,The findings of this research showed that TL and employees’ EI positively and significantly influence employees’ OCB. Additionally, the results revealed that employees’ EI moderates the TL – employees’ OCB association.,Iranian organizations should invest in TL and EI training and in the selection of mangers with TL style and employees with good level of EI in order to enrich the OCB of employees.,The present study is one of the first to examine the TL – employees’ OCB and employees’ EI – employees’ OCB relationships, and the moderating influence of employees’ EI on the TL – employees’ OCB association in a developing country, Iran.

Transformational leadership and organizational citizenship behavior: The moderating role of emotional intelligence

Creativity has been identified as the future of marketing; at the same time, artificial intelligence (AI) is enabling more automation in this field. The theories and frameworks in the literature have not yet sufficiently explained the impact of AI on creativity in marketing. Hence, this research aims to advance theories on creativity in marketing and AI by conducting a comprehensive review of the literature. Our review covers 156 papers published between 1990 and 2021, compiled on the basis of the Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews (SPAR-4-SLR) protocol and the theory–context–characteristics–methodology framework. We advance theory in the field by proposing a new organizing framework to guide the integration of the identified themes and synthesize the antecedents, dimensions, and outcomes of creativity in marketing and AI. Furthermore, to assist academics and practitioners we propose a typology of the key skills required for creativity in marketing and the impact of specific AI capabilities on these skills. This article serves as a foundation for researchers by providing a holistic understanding of the integration of AI into creativity in marketing. 

Toward advancing theory on creativity in marketing and artificial intelligence

During the last decade, individual competencies and soft skills have reached a position of paramount importance among scholars in different fields. Yet, there seems to be a lack of consensus around the meaning of both concepts to the extent that they are sometimes used interchangeably. In response to this, we conducted a systematic review aimed at shedding light on the meaning of competencies and soft skills in business literature. The theoretical perspectives and methodological choices used by scholars were also accounted for as they are closely related to the definitions of these concepts. The systematic review presented in this paper addressed three specific research questions: (a) how are soft skills and competencies conceptualized in the reviewed literature?, (b) what are the main theories used in the study of soft skills and competencies?, and (c) methodologically, what are the main characteristics of those studies? The results indicate that there is still lack of consensus regarding the definitions of both terms. We also found that a large portion of the papers lacked a solid theoretical foundation, while the rest of the papers evidenced that business studies on competencies and soft skills suffer from theoretical dispersion. With regards to the methods used, we conclude that improvements must be made to help develop an understanding of competencies and soft skills. Consequently, a theoretical model explaining the relationships between these concepts was developed taking into account the sounder theoretical perspectives found in the literature review.

Soft skills, do we know what we are talking about?

In this study, the interaction between emotional intelligence, organizational identification, and creativity performance was examined. In addition, it was aimed to make recommendations depending on the results regarding the impact of emotional intelligence and organizational identification on creativity performance. It was designed as an empirical study, and the data on emotional intelligence, organizational identification, and creativity performance perceptions were gathered from 1136 employees working at 37 tea factories in Türkiye by questionnaire. The data were analyzed by performing reliability, validity, correlation, and regression tests with SPSS 25, and the results are given in tables. The results showed that emotional intelligence-overall, emotional recognition, and emotional facilitation significantly impact organizational identification and creativity performance. It was also revealed that emotional intelligence overall, emotional recognition, emotional facilitation, and emotional regulation significantly impact creativity performance. This study hopes to provide practical management knowledge to organizations to improve their creativity performance by enhancing their employees' emotional intelligence and organizational identification. This study explored the factors that affect creativity performance in terms of both emotional intelligence and organizational identification. It fills an important gap by providing greater clarity with regard to creativity performance. In addition, the study has value from the perspective of results from a big public enterprise. 

The Impact of Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Identification on Creativity Performance

There has been a great interest in the literature in understanding the incidence of information technology capabilities (ITC) on innovation performance (IP). Recently, it has been proven that this relationship is mediated by organizational factors requiring an additional effort in terms of information processing in a rational and analytical manner, including strategic market orientation and absorptive capacity; however, the role of emotions in this discussion has not been widely addressed. A scenario in which emotions are inhibited, in particular, emotional capability (EC), prevents the activation of other forms of cognition relating to intuition, experience and empathy. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the mediating effect of EC on the relationship between ITC and IP.,The authors analyzed the statistical significance of the indirect effects through structural equations.,The results show the existence of partial mediation of EC. Therefore, it is evidenced that less rational constructs, such as EC, serve as a bridge between ITC and IP, on account of the improvement in information processing, the level of information technology (IT) use and virtual communication.,This finding is quite significant because it forces innovation researchers and practitioners to reconsider the prevailing study perspective that explores only analytical mediators, which implies an additional effort in terms of rational processing of information. All this because there is a risk of accentuating the cognitive overload and increasing the levels of stress that lead employees to stop receiving and using information provided by IT services, which compromises the possibility of obtaining better results in innovation.,En la literatura ha habido un gran interes por analizar la incidencia de las capacidades de tecnologias de informacion (CTI) en el desempeno innovador (DI). Recientemente ha quedado claro que esta relacion esta mediada por factores organizacionales que implican un esfuerzo adicional en terminos de procesamiento racional y analitico de informacion, entre ellos, la orientacion estrategica al mercado y la capacidad de absorcion. Sin embargo, el papel de las emociones en esta discusion no ha sido considerado. Un escenario en el que la capacidad emocional (CE) no esta siendo considerada supone la no activacion de otras formas de cognicion relacionadas con la intuicion, la experiencia y la empatia. Por lo tanto, el proposito de este articulo es analizar el efecto mediador de CE en la relacion entre CTI y DI.,Se analizo la significancia estadistica de los efectos indirectos mediante ecuaciones estructurales,Los resultados muestran la existencia de una mediacion parcial de CE. Por lo tanto, queda evidenciado que constructos menos racionales como la capacidad emocional sirven como un puente entre CTI y el DI, por cuenta de la mejora en el procesamiento de la informacion, el nivel de uso de tecnologias de la informacion y la comunicacion virtual.,Este hallazgo es bastante interesante dado que obliga a los investigadores y profesionales dedicados a la innovacion a reconsiderar la perspectiva de estudio hegemonica que explora unicamente mediadores analiticos, lo cual implica un esfuerzo adicional en terminos de procesamiento racional de la informacion. In today’s fast changing and extremely competitive business environment, organisations can only survive by realising their employees’ creative and innovative potential. Existing research has demonstrated that there is a positive relationship between emotional intelligence and creativity. To extend our knowledge of this link, this paper investigates whether leaders’ emotional intelligence competencies may enhance and nurture employees’ creative performance and innovative behaviour. The sample comprised 1102 leaders working in different industries throughout Australia, Iran and Malaysia. Findings indicated that leaders’ emotional intelligence competencies positively and significantly affect employees’ creative performance and innovative behaviour in all three nations. The results are discussed and suggestions are made based upon the data analysis and conclusion. Also, the implications of the results are highlighted. Eventually, limitations of the study and possible directions for future research are discussed.
