Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis with aspergilloma: an immunologically severe disease with poor outcome.
Ritesh Agarwal,Ashutosh N. Aggarwal,Mandeep Garg,Biman Saikia,Dheeraj Gupta,Arunaloke Chakrabarti +5 more
TL;DR: The concurrent presentation of ABPA and aspergilloma is associated with an immunologically severe disease and risk of recurrent relapses and on a multivariate linear regression analysis, high-attenuation mucus and as pergillomas were independent predictors of relapse frequency.

Candida overgrowth after treatment of duodenal ulcer. A comparison of cimetidine, famotidine, and omeprazole.
Mahesh K. Goenka,Rakesh Kochhar,Arunaloke Chakrabarti,Arvind Kumar,Om Prakash Gupta,Pushpa Talwar,Satish Mehta +6 more
TL;DR: It is found that posttreatment gastric pH of > and = 4 was associated with a higher fungal positivity rate than pH values < 4, and neither the type of drug used nor the response in terms of ulcer healing correlated with the presence of fungus.

Cavitary pulmonary zygomycosis caused by Rhizopus homothallicus.
Arunaloke Chakrabarti,Rungmei S. K. Marak,M. R. Shivaprakash,Sunita Gupta,Rajiv Garg,Vinay Sakhuja,Sanjay Singhal,Abhishek Baghela,A. K. Dixit,Meenakshi Garg,Arvind A. Padhye +10 more
TL;DR: The first two proven cases of cavitary pulmonary zygomycosis caused by Rhizopus homothallicus are reported, with diagnosis based on histology, culture of the causal agent, and the nucleotide sequence of the 28S ribosomal DNA.

Rapid detection of terbinafine resistance in Trichophyton species by Amplified refractory mutation system-polymerase chain reaction.
Shamanth A Shankarnarayan,Dipika Shaw,Arunima Sharma,Arunaloke Chakrabarti,Sunil Dogra,Muthu Sendhil Kumaran,Harsimran Kaur,Anup Ghosh,Shivaprakash M Rudramurthy +8 more
TL;DR: The evaluated the utility of amplified refractory mutation system polymerase chain reaction (ARMS PCR) for detection of previously reported point mutations, including a mutation C1191A in the SE gene in Trichophyton species, and found it is a simple and reliable method to detect terbinafine-resistant TrICHophyton isolates.
