The environmental source of emerging Apophysomyces variabilis infection in India.
Hariprasath Prakash,Anup K. Ghosh,Shivaprakash M Rudramurthy,Raees A. Paul,Sunita Gupta,Vishwanand Negi,Arunaloke Chakrabarti +6 more
TL;DR: The present study revealed abundant presence of A. variabilis in Indian soil with low nitrogen content, its genetic heterogeneity and relatively high MICs for amphotericin B.
Apophysomyces elegans: Epidemiology, Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism Typing, and In Vitro Antifungal Susceptibility Pattern
Arunaloke Chakrabarti,M. R. Shivaprakash,Ilse Curfs-Breuker,Abhishek Baghela,Corné H. W. Klaassen,Jacques F. Meis +5 more
TL;DR: The study indicates a possible change in the clinical pattern of zygomycosis due to A. elegans in India, and the AFLP patterns show a clear difference between environmental and clinical strains.

Aspergillus hypersensitivity and allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis in patients with acute severe asthma in a respiratory intensive care unit in North India.
TL;DR: The occurrence of AH and ABPA is very high in patients with acute asthma admitted to a respiratory ICU, and the occurrence of high percentage of serological ABPA calls for the use of AST as a routine screening tool for ABPA in all patients with severe asthma at discharge.
