Effects of the Bark Resin Extract of Garcinia nigrolineata on Chronic Stress-Induced Memory Deficit in Mice Model and the In Vitro Monoamine Oxidases and β-Amyloid Aggregation Inhibitory Activities of Its Prenylated Xanthone Constituents
Charinya Khamphukdee,Ibrahim Turkmani,Yutthana Chotritthirong,Yaowared Chulikhit,Chantana Boonyarat,Nazim Sekeroglu,Artur M. S. Silva,Orawan Monthakantirat,Anake Kijjoa +8 more
TL;DR: It was found that the negative impact of repeated mild stress-induced learning and memory deficit through brain oxidative stress in the UCMS mice was reversed by treatment with the bark resin extract G. nigrolineata.
Bioactive Quinolactacins and Structurally Related Pyrroloquinolones
Gustavo da Silva,Gustavo da Silva,Rui Moreira,Artur M. S. Silva +3 more
- 01 Jan 2019
TL;DR: This chapter covers all the existing research (from 2000 up to the present), describes novel, naturally occurring quinolactacins, and reports major advances for the partial and total synthesis of this group of compounds.

New Developments in the Synthesis of (E)-8-Styrylflavones
TL;DR: In this article, the Heck precursors, 8-iodoflavones, were obtained through an efficient regioselective one-pot oxidative cyclization-iodination reaction of (E)-2′-hydroxychalcones by applying the iodine/dimethyl sulfoxide system.

New Synthesis of (Z)- and (E)-3-Styryl-4-quinolones
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel and efficient route for the synthesis of (Z)- and (E)-3-styryl-4-quinolones is described, where the Wittig reaction of 4-(chlo- roquinoline- and quinolone)-3 carbaldehydes with benzylic ylides is the key transformation for this synthetic route.
