Evidence for proinsulin in human urine and serum
TL;DR: Proinsulin, a biosynthetic precursor of insulin, has been demonstrated in blood or urine from five individuals and its presence in the peripheral circulation will necessitate a re-evaluation of the specificity and significance of previously reported immunoreactive insulin levels.

Spontaneous hypoglycaemia in congestive heart-failure.

TL;DR: In diabetes mellitus abnormal quantiites of glycoprotein may be formed in the basement membrane of the glomerulus and both renal function and size may increase and it is suggested that these changes have a common origin an increased rate of uridine-triphosphate synthesis resulting from hyperglycemia.

Acute effect of ascorbic acid infusion on carbohydrate tolerance.
TL;DR: Large doses of ascorbic acid were administered intravenously to normal weight and obese, nondiabetic subjects, and was associated with lower concentrations of hormone during an intravenous glucose tolerance test.
