The present disclosure relates to making payments with a mobile device. In one example process, the mobile device receives and stores information for one or more payment accounts on the mobile device. The mobile device is used to make payments using the payment accounts. In some examples, authorization to proceed with a payment is performed before each purchase made by the user. The authorization process can include receiving a verification of the user, such as a fingerprint scan or passcode. In some examples, a payment account is selected from among available payment accounts. In some examples, an indication is displayed of a digital item associated with a purchased item. In some examples, a payment transaction is initiated with participants of an ongoing communication. In some examples, an application of a retailer is invoked based on the availability of the application. In some examples, a purchase recommendation is provided.

A proximity payment system environment (PPSE) application is configured to store user preferred application identifiers, where each user preferred application identifier is respectively associated with a to transaction application stored on the mobile wireless device. A wireless device reader for receives the compatible application identifiers from the transaction terminal, and stores the compatible application identifiers in preferred applications lists (PALs).

At least one memory is queried for SE data including an SE identifier corresponding to the MSI. The SE data is transmitted to the SP TSM over the communications network. A second request based on the SE data is received from the SP TSM over the communications network. A third request, based on the second request, is transmitted, over a mobile network, to an SE corresponding to the SE data. The mobile network is selected from multiple mobile networks, and is determined based on the SE data queried from the memory.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods, systems, apparatuses, and computer-readable mediums for selecting multiple payment applications and preparing multiple transaction payloads for a transaction during interaction between a mobile device and an access device. Accordingly, by preparing multiple transaction payloads for a single transaction, the merchant may initiate transactions using each of the prepared transaction payloads in order of preference. If a transaction initiated using payment credentials associated with a preferred application is unsuccessful for any reason, a transaction may be initiated using payment credentials associated with an alternate application automatically, and without additional interaction by the mobile device and/or access device.

Additionally, the access device can store user device data and then complete the transaction with the user device before authorizing the transaction, such that the user device can be removed without waiting for an authorization response.
