A Priority Retrial Queue with Constant Retrial Policy
Arnaud Devos,Joris Walraevens,Herwig Bruneel +2 more
- 25 Jul 2018
TL;DR: Close-form expressions are obtained for the probability generating function of the number of customers in queue and orbit, in steady state, and for the Laplace Stieltjes transforms of the stationary waiting times of both type of customers.

Analysis of a discrete-time two-class randomly alternating service model with Bernoulli arrivals
TL;DR: Close-form expressions are obtained for the joint probability distribution for the number of customers of both classes, in steady state of a discrete-time two-class queueing system with a single server which is alternately available for only one customer class.

Approximations for the performance evaluation of a discrete-time two-class queue with an alternating service discipline
TL;DR: It is proved that the partial probability generating functions, present in the functional equation, have a unique dominant pole and this information is used to approximate these partial probabilities generating functions by truncating an infinite sum.

An Approximate Analysis of a Bernoulli Alternating Service Model
Arnaud Devos,Dieter Fiems,Joris Walraevens,Herwig Bruneel +3 more
- 27 Aug 2019
TL;DR: This work derives a functional equation for the joint probability generating function of the number of type-1 and type-2 customers and proposes an approximation for the coefficients of the Maclaurin series expansion of these functions which provides a fast method to compute approximations of various performance measures of interest.

Heavy-Traffic Comparison of a Discrete-Time Generalized Processor Sharing Queue and a Pure Randomly Alternating Service Queue
Arnaud Devos,Joris Walraevens,Dieter Fiems,Herwig Bruneel +3 more
- 27 Oct 2021
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compare two discrete-time single-server queueing models with two queues, where the server is available to a queue with probability 1/2 at each service opportunity and the correlation coefficient of the queuecontents is computed via the solution of a two-dimensional functional equation obtained by reducing it to a boundary value problem on a hyperbola.
