Application of Neural and Regression Models in Sports Results Prediction
Adam Maszczyk,Artur Gołaś,Przemysław Pietraszewski,Robert Roczniok,Adam Zając,Arkadiusz Stanula +5 more
TL;DR: The analysis of the above data clearly shows that the neural model does better at predicting sports results than the regression model, and demonstrated a significantly greater accuracy of prediction for perceptron models.

Application of regression and neural models to predict competitive swimming performance.
Adam Maszczyk,Robert Roczniok,Zbigniew Waśkiewicz,Miłosz Czuba,Kazimierz Mikołajec,Adam Zajac,Arkadiusz Stanula +6 more
TL;DR: Results for the nonlinear regression models and perception networks structured as 8-4-1 and 4-3-1 indicated that the neural models overall more accurately predicted final swimming performance from initial training, strength, fitness, and body measurements.

Exercise Training in Patients With Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer During In-Hospital Chemotherapy Treatment: A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL.
Anna Rutkowska,Dariusz Jastrzębski,Sebastian Rutkowski,Aleksandra Żebrowska,Arkadiusz Stanula,Jan Szczegielniak,Dariusz Ziora,Richard Casaburi +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that planned, individualized, and supervised exercise programs in patients with advanced lung cancer during chemotherapy are a practical and beneficial intervention for enhancing mobility and physical fitness.
The effect of vitamin D supplementation on serum total 25(OH) levels and biochemical markers of skeletal muscles in runners
Aleksandra Żebrowska,Ewa Sadowska-Krępa,Arkadiusz Stanula,Zbigniew Waśkiewicz,Olga Łakomy,Eduard Bezuglov,Pantelis T. Nikolaidis,Thomas Rosemann,Beat Knechtle,Beat Knechtle +9 more
TL;DR: Three weeks of vitamin D supplementation had a positive effect on serum 25(OH)D levels in endurance trained runners and it caused a marked decrease in post-exercise biomarkers levels, which might play an important role in prevention of skeletal muscle injuries following exercise with eccentric muscle contraction in athletes.

The role of training in the development of adaptive mechanisms in freedivers.
Andrzej Ostrowski,Marek Strzała,Arkadiusz Stanula,Mirosław Juszkiewicz,Wanda Pilch,Adam Maszczyk +5 more
TL;DR: The Role of Training in the Development of Adaptive Mechanisms in Freedivers Freediving is a sport in which athletes aim to achieve the longest or the deepest breath-hold dive.
