Cardioprotective effects of melatonin and metformin against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in rats are through preserving mitochondrial function and dynamics.
Apiwan Arinno,Chayodom Maneechote,Thawatchai Khuanjing,Benjamin Ongnok,Nanthip Prathumsap,Titikorn Chunchai,Busarin Arunsak,Sasiwan Kerdphoo,Krekwit Shinlapawittayatorn,Siriporn C. Chattipakorn,Nipon Chattipakorn +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors showed that treatment with either melatonin or metformin provided cardioprotection against Dox-induced cardiotoxicity through mitochondrial protection in Wistar rats, where the left ventricular (LV) function, oxidative stress, inflammation, mitochondrial function, dynamics, biogenesis and bioenergetics, mitophagia, autophagy, and apoptosis were determined.

Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor ameliorates doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity through reducing RIP1-mediated necroptosis.
Thawatchai Khuanjing,Benjamin Ongnok,Chayodom Maneechote,Natthaphat Siri-Angkul,Nanthip Prathumsap,Apiwan Arinno,Titikorn Chunchai,Busarin Arunsak,Siriporn C. Chattipakorn,Nipon Chattipakorn +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, donepezil was shown to reduce reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, mitochondrial dysfunction, mitochondrial dynamics imbalance, necroptosis, and apoptosis in DIC rats.

High-saturated fat high-sugar diet accelerates left-ventricular dysfunction faster than high-saturated fat diet alone via increasing oxidative stress and apoptosis in obese-insulin resistant rats.
Nattayaporn Apaijai,Apiwan Arinno,Siripong Palee,Wasana Pratchayasakul,Sasiwan Kerdphoo,Thidarat Jaiwongkam,Titikorn Chunchai,Siriporn C. Chattipakorn,Nipon Chattipakorn +8 more
TL;DR: HFHS causes more severe metabolic disturbance, oxidative stress, and apoptosis than HFD, which leads to an accelerated LV dysfunction in HFHS rats.

The roles of resveratrol on cardiac mitochondrial function in cardiac diseases
TL;DR: Accumulated data from in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo studies regarding the effects of resveratrol on cardiac mitochondrial function in cardiac pathologies are comprehensively summarized and discussed.

Vagus nerve stimulation exerts cardioprotection against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity through inhibition of programmed cell death pathways
Nanthip Prathumsap,Benjamin Ongnok,Thawatchai Khuanjing,Apiwan Arinno,Chayodom Maneechote,Nattayaporn Apaijai,Titikorn Chunchai,Busarin Arunsak,Sasiwan Kerdphoo,Sornram Janjek,Siriporn C. Chattipakorn,Nipon Chattipakorn +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that VNS exerts cardioprotective effects against doxorubicin-induced cardiomyocyte death via activation of both mAChR and nAChRs, and ACh effectively improved cell viability and suppressed cell cytotoxicity in dox orubicIn-treated H9c2 cells.
