Zika Virus Disrupts Phospho-TBK1 Localization and Mitosis in Human Neuroepithelial Stem Cells and Radial Glia
Marco Onorati,Zhen Li,Fuchen Liu,André M. M. Sousa,Naoki Nakagawa,Mingfeng Li,Maria Teresa Dell’Anno,Forrest O. Gulden,Sirisha Pochareddy,Andrew T.N. Tebbenkamp,Wenqi Han,Mihovil Pletikos,Tianliuyun Gao,Ying Zhu,Candace Bichsel,Luis Varela,Klara Szigeti-Buck,Steven Lisgo,Yalan Zhang,Anze Testen,Xiao-Bing Gao,Jernej Mlakar,Mara Popović,Marie Flamand,Stephen M. Strittmatter,Leonard K. Kaczmarek,Eva S. Anton,Tamas L. Horvath,Brett D. Lindenbach,Nenad Sestan +29 more
TL;DR: It is shown that ZIKV infects both neocortical and spinal cord neuroepithelial stem cells as well as their fetal homolog, radial glial cells (RGCs), causing disrupted mitoses, supernumerary centrosomes, structural disorganization, and cell death.

Region-Specific Reductions in Morphometric Properties and Synaptic Colocalization of Astrocytes Following Cocaine Self-Administration and Extinction.
TL;DR: An assessment of the effects of cocaine self-administration on morphometric properties and synaptic colocalization of astrocyte peripheral processes in the prelimbic region of the medial prefrontal cortex and basolateral nucleus of the amygdala, both known to also contribute significantly to motivated behaviors are extended.
Region-Specific Differences in Morphometric Features and Synaptic Colocalization of Astrocytes During Development.
Anze Testen,Maryam Ali,Hannah G. Sexton,Sierra Hodges,Kira Dubester,Kathryn J. Reissner,H. Scott Swartzwelder,Mary-Louise Risher +7 more
TL;DR: Novel insight is provided into region-specific astrocyte-synapse interactions in late CNS development and into adulthood, thus raising implications for the mechanism of post-adolescent development of the mPFC.

High-Resolution Three-Dimensional Imaging of Individual Astrocytes Using Confocal Microscopy.
TL;DR: A method utilizing a commercially available and validated, genetically encoded membrane‐associated fluorescent marker of astrocytes, AAV5‐GfaABC1D‐Lck‐GFP is described, which can be utilized via a standard laboratory confocal microscope and Imaris software, and allows for detailed analysis of the morphology and synaptic colocalization of astracytes in fixed tissue.
Stable oligomeric clusters of gold nanoparticles: preparation, size distribution, derivatization, and physical and biological properties.
Oliver Smithies,Marlon G. Lawrence,Anze Testen,Lloyd P. Horne,Lloyd P. Horne,Jennifer Wilder,Michael K. Altenburg,Ben Bleasdale,Nobuyo Maeda,Tilen Koklic +9 more
TL;DR: Two very simple methods for producing highly stable oligomeric grape-like clusters (oligoclusters) of small nanoparticles that are potentially useful for presenting pharmacological agents to different tissues while controlling escape of the reagents from the circulation are described.
