Effects of Diet and Simvastatin on Serum Lipids, Insulin, and Antioxidants in Hypercholesterolemic Men: A Randomized Controlled Trial
TL;DR: A modified Mediterranean-type diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids efficiently potentiated the cholesterol-lowering effect of simvastatin, counteracted the fasting insulin-elevating effect of simulator, and did not decrease serum levels of beta-carotene and ubiquinol-10.

Alexithymia A Facet of Essential Hypertension
TL;DR: It is concluded that alexithymia, that is, poor ability to experience and express emotions, is associated with elevated blood pressure independent of sodium and alcohol intake, body mass index, and physical fitness.

Multiple Clinic and Home Blood Pressure Measurements Versus Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
TL;DR: It is concluded that carefully controlled nonphysician-measured clinic and self-me measured home BPs, when averaged over 4 duplicate measurements, are as reliable as ambulatory BP monitoring in the clinical evaluation of untreated hypertension.

Does simvastatin affect mood and steroid hormone levels in hypercholesterolemic men? A randomized double-blind trial.
TL;DR: Simvastatin resulted in a statistically significant increase of depression and somatization without changes in the anxiety, hostility or aggression scores, and mood changes seemed to be unrelated with the statistically significant but clinically insignificant decline in serum testosterone levels and related with the increase in serum dehydroepiandrosterone levels.

Home-measured blood pressure is more strongly associated with electrocardiographic left ventricular hypertrophy than is clinic blood pressure: the Finn-HOME study
TL;DR: Home BP measurement allows us to obtain a large number of measurements that have a strong association with ECG-LVH, and the data support the application of home BP measurement in clinical practice.
