TL;DR: A comprehensive multiomic reference of the extraembryonic yolk sac from 3 to 8 postconception weeks is assembled by integrating single-cell protein and gene expression data and reports that human YS can fuel the accelerated production of macrophages from hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells independently of monocytes.

TL;DR: A complete single cell 3D map of human YS from 3-8 post conception weeks is assembled by integrating multiomic protein and gene expression data revealing the YS as a site of primitive and definitive haematopoiesis including a YS-specific accelerated route to macrophage production, a source of nutritional/metabolic support and a regulator of oxygen-carrying capacity.
Integrating multi-covariate disentanglement with counterfactual analysis on synthetic data enables cell type discovery and counterfactual predictions

TL;DR: It is revealed that crosstalk between non-immune and immune cells underpins formation of hair follicles, has implications for scarless wound healing, and is critical for skin angiogenesis.
