Elective endovascular vs. open repair for abdominal aortic aneurysm in patients aged 80 years and older: systematic review and meta-analysis
TL;DR: It is suggested that elective EVAR in patients aged ≥80 years is associated with significantly lower immediate postoperative mortality and morbidity than open repair and should be considered the treatment of choice in these fragile patients.

Papillary Thyroid Cancer Prognosis: An Evolving Field.
Salvatore Ulisse,Enke Baldini,Augusto Lauro,Daniele Pironi,Domenico Tripodi,Eleonora Lori,Iulia Catalina Ferent,Maria Ida Amabile,Antonio Catania,Filippo Maria Di Matteo,Forte F,Alberto Santoro,Piergaspare Palumbo,Vito D'Andrea,Salvatore Sorrenti +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the recent changes in the clinical management of thyroid nodules, and review the current staging systems of thyroid cancer patients by analyzing promising clinicopathological features (i.e., gender, thyroid auto-immunity, multifocality, PTC histological variants, and vascular invasion) as well as new molecular markers potentially capable of ameliorating the prognosis of PTC patients.

Vitiligo and Autoimmune Thyroid Disorders.
Enke Baldini,Teresa Odorisio,Salvatore Sorrenti,Antonio Catania,Francesco Tartaglia,Giovanni Carbotta,Daniele Pironi,Roberta Rendina,Eleonora D'Armiento,Severino Persechino,Salvatore Ulisse +10 more
TL;DR: The clinical association between vitiligo and autoimmune thyroid disorders is described and the possible underlying molecular mechanism(s) discussed, which may be related to the autoimmune hypothesis, are discussed.
Comparison of malignancy rate in thyroid nodules with cytology of indeterminate follicular or indeterminate Hürthle cell neoplasm.
Salvatore Sorrenti,Pierpaolo Trimboli,Antonio Catania,Salvatore Ulisse,Enrico De Antoni,Massimino D'Armiento +5 more
TL;DR: It is likely that patients with an HN indeterminate for malignancy cytology will, as a group, have more aggressive thyroid cancers than those with an FN indeterminates for malignant cytology.

High expression of the urokinase plasminogen activator and its cognate receptor associates with advanced stages and reduced disease-free interval in papillary thyroid carcinoma
Salvatore Ulisse,Enke Baldini,Salvatore Sorrenti,Susi Barollo,Lucio Gnessi,Antonio Catania,Maria Rosa Pellizzo,Francesco Nardi,Caterina Mian,Enrico De Antoni,Massimino D'Armiento,Luigi Frati +11 more
TL;DR: The study demonstrated that in PTC the increased gene expression of uPA and uPAR is associated with tumor invasiveness, advanced stages, and shorter DFI, suggesting their prognostic relevance.
