Artificial Metaplasticity can Improve Artificial Neural Networks Learning
TL;DR: A novel implementation is proposed in which, during the network learning phase, a priority is given to weight updating of less frequent activations over the more frequent ones in a metaplasticity property of biological synapses.

Feature Vectors Generation for Detection of Microcalcifications in Digitized Mammography Using Neural Networks
A. Vega-Corona,Antonio Álvarez-Vellisco,Diego Andina +2 more
- 05 Jun 2009
TL;DR: A methodology that sinergically combines a select of successful advances in each step to automatically classify microcalcifications in digitized mammography and uses a Neural feature selector and detector to finally classify the MCs.

Artificial metaplasticity MLP applied to image classification
Alexis Marcano-Cedeño,Antonio Álvarez-Vellisco,Diego Andina +2 more
- 23 Jun 2009
TL;DR: Artificial Metaplasticity is a novel Artificial Neural Network training algorithm that gives more relevance to less frequent training patterns and subtracts relevance to the frequent ones during training phase, achieving a much more efficient training, while at least maintaining the MLP performance.

Analysis of the results of four years of research and application of a student-centered system based on the ECTS to first-year students in order to improve their performance in the subject AC-I
Wilmar Hernandez,Javier Palmero,Manuel Labrador,Jorge Bonache,Carmen Cousido,Antonio Álvarez-Vellisco,Juana M. Gutiérrez-Arriola,Juan Jimenez-Trillo +7 more
- 14 Apr 2010
TL;DR: In this article, the results of four years of a research aimed at carrying out a comparative analysis between the application of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and the traditional teaching and learning system (TTLS) to first-year students, in order to improve their performance in the subject Analysis of Circuits I (AC-I) are presented.
