Long-term outcome of peripartum cardiomyopathy in a population with high seropositivity for human immunodeficiency virus.
Karen Sliwa,Olaf Forster,Kemi Tibazarwa,Elena Libhaber,Anthony Becker,Anthony Yip,Denise Hilfiker-Kleiner +6 more
TL;DR: The novel finding of this study is the continuous high mortality of PPCM patients occurring beyond 6 months independent of HIV infection and subsequent pregnancy, which strongly encourages the need for long-term clinical follow-up and management of women with PPCm.

Metastasis and Mortality in Men With Low- and Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer on Active Surveillance.
Patrick T Courtney,Rishi Deka,Nikhil V. Kotha,Daniel R Cherry,M.A. Salans,Tyler J. Nelson,Abhishek Kumar,Elaine Luterstein,Anthony Yip,Vinit Nalawade,J. Kellogg Parsons,A. Karim Kader,Tyler F. Stewart,Brent S. Rose +13 more
TL;DR: Compared with low-risk patients, those with favorable and unfavorable intermediate-risk prostate cancer managed with AS are at increased risk of metastasis and PCSM.

Cardiac function in an African dialysis population with a low prevalence of pre-existing cardiovascular disease.
Valerie A. Luyckx,Anthony Yip,Lana Sofianou,Gian S. Jhangri,Thomas F. Mueller,Saraladevi Naicker +5 more
TL;DR: In a population of patients with a low prevalence of cardiovascular disease at dialysis initiation, cardiac function appears preserved over time, and cardiac morbidity and mortality are low, suggesting that dialysis and uremia per se, in the absence of pre-existing cardiac disease, may not be major contributors to cardiovascular morbidity.

Left ventricular twist before and after haemodialysis: an analysis using speckle-tracking echocardiography.
Anthony Yip,Saraladevi Naicker,Ferande Peters,Elena Libhaber,Nirvathi Maharaj,Mduduzi Mashabane,Mohammed R. Essop +6 more
TL;DR: Unlike EF, the components of twist are relatively independent of changes in haemodynamic load seen during dialysis, so the decrease in apical rotation may represent an early marker of cardiac pathology in the late-stage CKD patient.

Post-treatment neuroendocrine outcomes among pediatric brain tumor patients: Is there a difference between proton and photon therapy?
Anthony Yip,Justin Yu,Minh-Phuong Huynh-Le,M.A. Salans,Soumya Unnikrishnan,Alex S. Qian,Ronghui Xu,R. Kaner,I. MacEwan,John D. Crawford,Jona A. Hattangadi-Gluth +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors compared post-RT neuroendocrine outcomes between pediatric brain tumor patients receiving photons (XRT) versus protons (PRT) using a prospectively maintained single-institution database.
