The generation of personalized audio (Beamforming) requiers regularization processes to be viable in non-ideal conditions. The implementation of the Inverse Method could not be achieved because of its big amoung of energy consumption.
Based on the above, this work tends to develop a comparison between different methods for the generation of Beamforming with the aim of finding pros and cons of each one of them. Using the software MATLAB a theoretical comparison was done taking into account parameters such as Acoustic Contrast, required energy and sound pressure level withing a given frequency range. That information was validated through a set of subjective tests in which there was taken into account parameters such as Acoustic Contrast, Frequency Response, sound pressure level and level of joy of each method with the subjects beeing interrogated. A numerical and statistical analysis was done in order to get some conclusions of the work in question

Comparación de métodos analíticos para la generación de audio personalizado (beamforming)

La synthese de champs sonores est un domaine de recherche actif trouvant de nombreuses applications musicales, multimedias ou encore industrielles. Dans ce dernier cas, la reconstruction precise du champ sonore est souhaitee, ce qui implique de repondre a un certains nombre de questionnements scientifiques. A l'aide de reseaux de microphones et de haut-parleurs, la captation, la synthese et la reconstruction precise de champs sonores sont theoriquement possibles. Seulement, pour des applications pratiques, la disposition des haut-parleurs et l'influence acoustique du lieu de restitution sont des facteurs cruciaux a prendre en compte pour s'assurer de la bonne reconstruction du champ sonore.Dans ce contexte, cette these de doctorat propose des methodes et des techniques pour la captation, la transformation et la reconstruction precise de champs sonores en trois dimensions en se basant sur la methode ambisonique d'ordre eleve. Une configuration spherique pour le reseau de microphones et de haut-parleurs est proposee. Elle suit un maillage de Lebedev a cinquante points qui permet la captation et la reconstruction du champ sonore jusqu'a l'ordre 5 avec le formalisme ambisonique. Les limitations de cette approche, tel le repliement spatial, sont etudies en details.De plus, une operation de transformation du champ sonore est presentee. Elle est etablie dans le domaine des harmoniques spheriques et permet d'effectuer un filtrage directionnel avant le decodage pour privilegier certaines directions dans le champ sonore, suivant une fonction de directivite choisie.Pour la reconstruction, une approche originale, egalement etablie dans le domaine des harmoniques spheriques, permet de prendre en compte l'influence acoustique du lieu de restitution, ainsi que les defauts du systeme de restitution. Ce traitement permet alors d'adapter la synthese de champs sonores au lieu de restitution, en conservant le formalisme theorique etabli en champ libre.Finalement, une validation experimentale des methodes et des techniques developpees au cours de la these est faite. Dans ce contexte, une suite logicielle de synthese et traitement en temps-reel des champs sonore est developpee.

Ambisonie d'ordre élevé en trois dimensions : captation, transformations et décodage adaptatifs de champs sonores

This paper presents several digital signal processing (DSP) tools for the real-time synthesis of a 3D sound pressure field using Ambisonics technologies. The spatialization of monophonic signal or the reconstruction of natural 3D recorded sound pressure fields is considered. The DSP required to generate the loudspeaker signals is implemented using the FAUST programming language. FAUST enables and simplifies the compilation of the developed tools on several architectures and on different DSP tool format. In this paper, a focus is made on the near-field filters implementation which allows for the encoding of spherical waves with distance information. The gain variation with distance is also taken into account. The control of the synthesis can be made by software controllers or hardware controllers, such as joystick, by the mean of PURE DATA and OPEN SOUND CONTROL (OSC) messages. A visual feedback tool using the PROCESSING programming language is also presented in the most recent implementation. The aim of this research derives from a larger research project on physically-accurate sound field reproduction for simulators in engineering and industrial applications.

Auralization of vibroacoustic models in engineering using Wave Field Synthesis: Application to plates and transmission loss

Traditional methods for acoustic field visualization require considerable effort for capturing large amounts of acoustic data to achieve a high resolution field map, highly limiting their widespread use. In this study, we propose an approach for acoustic field visualization based on physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) by using a small amount of data, subsequently realizing accurate acoustic source localization. First, we present a PINN model integrated with an acoustic Helmholtz equation and adaptive sampling, the performance of which is testified via numerical simulations. The “no mesh” character of PINN enables achieving high resolution acoustic field visualization without requiring the capture of numerous data in advance. Furthermore, we experimentally validate the performance of the proposed method, which demonstrates that the acoustic sources can be precisely localized with sparse field data acquisition within a small area. This work would find potential applications in various acoustics, such as acoustic communication, biomedical imaging, and virtual reality.
