Circulating adipokine levels and prognostic value in septic patients
Andreas Hillenbrand,Pengfei Xu,Shaoxia Zhou,Annette Blatz,Manfred Weiss,Sebastian Hafner,Doris Henne-Bruns,Uwe Knippschild +7 more
TL;DR: Higher preseptic adiponECTin levels and decreasing adiponectin levels after onset of sepsis are associated with survival of Sepsis, and changes in adiponektin levels could be a prognostic marker for outcome of severe sepsi/septic shock following surgery.
Analysis of Cell Type-specific Expression of CK1 epsilon in Various Tissues of Young Adult BALB/c Mice and in Mammary Tumors of SV40 T-Ag-transgenic Mice
Anja C. Utz,Heidrun Hirner,Annette Blatz,Andreas Hillenbrand,Bernhard Schmidt,Wolfgang Deppert,Doris Henne-Bruns,Dietmar Fischer,Dietmar Rudolf Thal,Frank Leithäuser,Uwe Knippschild +10 more
TL;DR: A cell/organ type-specific function of CK1ε is suggested and indicate that tumorigenic conversion of mammary glands in SV40 T-antigen-transgenic mice leads to downregulation of CK2ε, which is linked to neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.

Cyclin H expression is increased in GIST with very-high risk of malignancy
Julian Dorn,Hanno Spatz,Michael Schmieder,Thomas F. E. Barth,Annette Blatz,Doris Henne-Bruns,Uwe Knippschild,Klaus Kramer +7 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that, in addition to high risk classification, cyclin H expression might be an indicator for "very-high risk" GIST, which is still a controversial issue.
Effects of altered expression and activity levels of CK1δ and ɛ on tumor growth and survival of colorectal cancer patients.
Julia Richter,Kalim Ullah,Pengfei Xu,Vanessa Alscher,Annette Blatz,Christian Peifer,Jakob Halekotte,Johann Leban,Daniel Vitt,Karlheinz Holzmann,Vasiliy A. Bakulev,Lorenzo A. Pinna,Doris Henne-Bruns,Andreas Hillenbrand,Marko Kornmann,Frank Leithäuser,Joachim Bischof,Uwe Knippschild +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that CK1 isoforms are differently expressed in colon tumor cell lines and that growth of these cell lines can be inhibited by CK1‐specific inhibitors, and evidence is provided that changes in the expression levels of CK 1 isoforms in colorectal tumors correlate with patients' survival.
Surgery of colorectal cancer: Surgical morbidity and five- and ten-year results in 2400 patients: Monoinstitutional experience
TL;DR: A prospective, uniform follow-up used over two decades warrants quality control in colorectal cancer surgery, which was curative for half of the patients and the morbidity and mortality were low and were not increased by multivisceral resections.
