Fluorescence-based melting assays for studying quadruplex ligands
Anne De Cian,Lionel Guittat,Markus Kaiser,Barbara Saccà,Samir Amrane,Anne Bourdoncle,Patrizia Alberti,Marie-Paule Teulade-Fichou,Laurent Lacroix,Jean-Louis Mergny +9 more
TL;DR: The FRET method used to measure the stabilization and selectivity of quadruplex ligands towards the human telomeric G-quadruplex is analysed and the stabilization value depends on the nature of the fluorescent tags, the incubation buffer, and the method chosen for T(m) calculation, complicating a direct comparison of the results obtained by different laboratories.

Human replication protein A unfolds telomeric G-quadruplexes.
Tonatiuh Romero Salas,I. O. Petruseva,Olga I. Lavrik,Anne Bourdoncle,Jean-Louis Mergny,Alain Favre,Carole Saintomé +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that under near-physiological in vitro conditions, human RPA is able to bind and unfold G-quadruplex structures formed from a 21mer human telomeric sequence, pointing to the involvement of hRPA in regulation of telomere maintenance.
DNA nanomachines and nanostructures involving quadruplexes
TL;DR: This work introduces the unusual structures that are involved in these devices and describes the opening and closing steps that allow cycling, together with the rules that govern its formation, its opening/closing kinetics and the various technical and physico-chemical parameters that play a role in the efficiency of this device.

Ligands Differentially Modulate the Protein Interactions of the Human Estrogen Receptors α and β
Emmanuel Margeat,Anne Bourdoncle,Raphaël Margueron,Nicolas Poujol,Vincent Cavaillès,Catherine A. Royer +5 more
TL;DR: These quantitative in vitro studies of ER interactions reveal the complex energetic and stoichiometric consequences of changes in the chemical structures of these proteins and their ligands.

Label-free detection of sub-nanomolar lead(II) ions in aqueous solution using a metal-based luminescent switch-on probe
Hong-Zhang He,Ka-Ho Leung,Hui Yang,Daniel Shiu-Hin Chan,Chung-Hang Leung,Jun Zhou,Anne Bourdoncle,Anne Bourdoncle,Jean-Louis Mergny,Dik-Lung Ma +9 more
TL;DR: A label-free oligonucleotide-based luminescent switch-on assay has been developed for the selective detection of sub-nanomolar Pb(2+) ions in aqueous solution and real water samples and exhibits good selectivity for P b( 2+) ions over other heavy metal ions.
