Molecular Mechanisms of In-Stent Restenosis and Approach to Therapy with Eluting Stents
TL;DR: Recent laboratory and clinical investigations concerning the mechanisms responsible for the transmission of mitogenic signals from plasma membrane to the nucleus in vascular smooth muscle cells that determine neointima formation after stent deployment are summarized.

Multichannel Electrocardiograms Obtained by a Smartwatch for the Diagnosis of ST-Segment Changes
Carmen Spaccarotella,Alberto Polimeni,Serena Migliarino,Elisa Principe,Antonio Curcio,Annalisa Mongiardo,Sabato Sorrentino,Salvatore De Rosa,Ciro Indolfi +8 more
TL;DR: Use of ECGs recorded on smartwatches might be useful to obtain an earlier diagnosis of acute coronary syndromes; these data need to be further examined in patients with suspected myocardial infarction in whom false-positive and false-negative findings could be better characterized.
Pathophysiology of aortic stenosis and approach to treatment with percutaneous valve implantation.
TL;DR: Aortic stenosis is the most commonly acquired valvular heart disease in the Western world and the mortality for untreated symptomatic severe AS is up to 50-60% at 2 years in high-risk patients.

Standard Versus Ultrasound-Guided Cannulation of the Femoral Artery in Patients Undergoing Invasive Procedures: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials
Sabato Sorrentino,P. Nguyen,Nadia Salerno,Alberto Polimeni,Jolanda Sabatino,Angela Makris,Angela Makris,Angela Makris,Annemarie Hennessy,Annemarie Hennessy,Annemarie Hennessy,Gennaro Giustino,Carmen Spaccarotella,Annalisa Mongiardo,Salvatore De Rosa,Craig P. Juergens,Craig P. Juergens,Ciro Indolfi +17 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that, compared to a standard approach, ultrasound-guided cannulation of the femoral artery is associated with lower access-related complications and higher efficacy rates and these results could be of great clinical relevance especially in the Femoral cannulations of high risk patients.

The instantaneous wave-free ratio (iFR) for evaluation of non-culprit lesions in patients with acute coronary syndrome and multivessel disease
Ciro Indolfi,Annalisa Mongiardo,Carmen Spaccarotella,Daniele Torella,Gianluca Caiazzo,Alberto Polimeni,Sabato Sorrentino,Mariella Micieli,Jolanda Sabatino,Antonio Curcio,Salvatore De Rosa +10 more
TL;DR: The iFR is a promising method for the assessment of non-culprit lesion severity in patients with acute coronary syndrome and has a good diagnostic efficiency at ROC analysis.
