Non-Thermal Plasma, as a New Physicochemical Source, to Induce Redox Imbalance and Subsequent Cell Death in Liver Cancer Cell Lines.
Barbora Smolková,Mariia Lunova,Anna Lynnyk,Mariia Uzhytchak,Olexander Churpita,Milan Jirsa,Šárka Kubinová,Oleg Lunov,Alexandr Dejneka +8 more
TL;DR: A rigorous biochemical analysis of interactions between NTP and liver cancer cells showed that the NTP-mediated alternation of mitochondrial membrane potential and dynamics led to ROS-mediated apoptosis in Huh7 and Alexander cells, whereas hydrogen peroxide treatment results in autophagic cell death.
A Critical Review on Selected External Physical Cues and Modulation of Cell Behavior: Magnetic Nanoparticles, Non-thermal Plasma and Lasers.
TL;DR: This review describes the latest research advances in biomedical applications of external physical cues using high-gradient magnetic fields in nanoparticle-mediated cell responses; non-thermal plasma as a novel bactericidal agent; highlights in understanding of cellular mechanisms of laser irradiation.

Spectroscopic ellipsometry applied to phase transitions in solids: possibilities and limitations.
Alexandr Dejneka,Ilze Aulika,V. A. Trepakov,Jaromir Krepelka,Lubomir Jastrabik,Zdenek Hubicka,Anna Lynnyk +6 more
TL;DR: The possibilities of in situ spectroscopic ellipsometry applied to phase transitions investigation in oxide thin films and crystals are examined, along with the use of various parameters calculated from ellipsometric data together with the directly measured main ellipsoidal angles psi and Delta for the detection of phase transitions.

Manipulating the mitochondria activity in human hepatic cell line Huh7 by low-power laser irradiation.
Anna Lynnyk,Mariia Lunova,Milan Jirsa,Daria Egorova,A. V. Kulikov,Šárka Kubinová,Oleg Lunov,Alexandr Dejneka +7 more
TL;DR: This work investigated mechanisms involved in the death process in human hepatic cell line Huh7 at a laser irradiation, and decoupled distinct cell death pathways targeted by laser irradiations of different powers.

The use of pulsed magnetic fields to increase the uptake of iron oxide nanoparticles by living cells
Mariia Uzhytchak,Anna Lynnyk,Vitalii Zablotskii,Nora M. Dempsey,Andre Dias,Marlio Bonfim,Mariia Lunova,Milan Jirsa,Šárka Kubinová,Oleg Lunov,Alexandr Dejneka +10 more
TL;DR: The rate of uptake of superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) and transport across the cell membrane were enhanced upon application of a high intensity (7 T) short pulse width magnetic field.
